This is ridiculous!

The level of Pacquiao-fanboyism going on right now is insane. We ALL know the news about the fight being in jeopardy because of Manny's refusal to take USADA Olympic style testing. But what I don't understand is the number of people DEFENDING Manny and the moronic reasoning behind some Saddonians' defense. Manny is the most exciting fighter in the world, honestly, I had no type of suspicions about Manny because his workrate has always been topnotch. He's like a fireball. Even when he moved up to 147 he pretty much looked the same and fought the same. But once I started thinking about it, I guess I could see how there are some suspicions. But this whole debacle around the tests is really proving that something is up and I don't see how any of yall could not think this deep down. Once Manny agrees then this is a mute issue but he hasn't yet. Floyd has agreed to the 10 Mil penalty, site has been agreed upon, everything is done, but Manny won't agree to the tests? You have a chance to make 20 Million dollars and all you have to do is prove that your clean and you won't do it?

Taking a blood test during the initial press conference and after the fight SIMPLY IS NOT ENOUGH!!! Floyd and his team are completely correct. The USADA tests are random and would be administered anytime during training. This is HUGE because drugs like EPO (which boosts red blood cells and increase stamina) and some steroids and some steroid blockers will be out of your system (blood and urine) in days. So a test before training and after the fight is basically saying that with the right knowledge, you've got a two month window to do PEDs. If you're using EPO for example (EPO effects last for several weeks after), you can simply take it during training up until the week before your fight and it will be out of your system after the fight. Shane Mosley proved this...ALL THE WAY BACK IN 2001!!! But taking blood is important. Because PEDs may not show up in the urine/blood because of blockers but the blood may show abnormally high red blood cell counts (precursor to EPO) and may show abnormally high levels of testosterone, IGF-1, DHEA, etc... And these results can confirm the use of PEDs. But the fact that they are random is most important and is what ensures that they will probably catch anyone doing PEDs.

The problem is that not enough people are aware of the different type of PEDs. This isn't the 80s-90s when people were taking horse steroids and what not. Now there's even gene therapy, which is CRAZY. Athletes are always ahead of the curve and will figure out a way around the system. Just because Manny is a philanthropist/humanitarian and a all-around good guy doesn't mean that he doesn't take PEDs. Just because he doesn't speak good English and seems kinda shy on cameras doesn't mean that he is nieve and doesn't know what a steroid or PED is. All this talk about needles and all that is complete nonsense and is BS. I'm not a fanboy, I can call a spade a spade, and that excuse is BS. I'm not saying Manny is on roids, I"m saying that raising all this fuss over USADA testing, the SAAAAME testing that Floyd is willing to put himself through, is raising my eyebrow and everyone's eyebrow should be raised. All this talk about Floyd's a BITCH, and Bob Arum calling him illiterate and Manny's team saying Floyd's just scared is all pointless. If Manny is truly clean then just do the testing. If the fight is off because of this and Manny basically throws a guaranteed $20 Million dollars in the garbage, then you can bet your bottom dollar he was afraid of a lot more than some stupid needles.

Funny, makes you wonder why a drug test would want to make Manny fold out of the race. There's no real legit claim to why Manny should disagree on the drug test especially if Mayweather goes through the same.

:appl:....Well said agreed 100%....I have said the same thing in other threads and have gotten killed for it...I think all fighters should be subjected to this test....I don't think this is something that should be don't at the whim of an opponent....This is certainly a very valid point and certainly a very valid arguement to put forward and have put in as a rule to the sport....These enhancement drugs are a problem and should be banned but we can not have fighters be allowed to make demands like this and superceed the commissions regardless of how many times they have dropped the ball.....


As for the rest of the post you are correct...Floyd is the one to lose out...He is not the P4P king Manny is...Even if Floyd did not retire chances are he would not have fought the guys need be or moved up enough to keep the crown and Manny would still hold the position....

Floyd is subjecting himself to the same testing though. Boxing is almost entirely up to private contracts, they can ask for whatever they want. Should all fighters that come in overweight also be charged 10 million dollars per pound? Is that a precident we want to set?

Why? If Mayweather comes in overweight and the fight goes through Pacquiao gets 10 million dollars per pound. Pac's team made no clause of fight cancellation, only monetary retribution.

Both sides have been guilty of stipulations. Yes Floyd agreed to fight ODLH at what ever request ODLH made. Of course and why wouldn't he. ODLH was shot, is shot and will continue to be shot no matter what stipulations he might have asked for.
