Anyone have a netbook?

I just bought one:cwm13: even though I have a laptop already I will probably give it to my brother. This I seem to like better, somehow it has a bigger harddrive, much more battery life and I don't need a laptop bag for it. Plus it was only 350 dollars which is more then reasonable. I was in the store to look at my HDTV options but I got steered in this direction. They are so small, it's kind of amusing really but it seems to do everything I do on a computer which is just post on here, do homework and run pokerstars :\

Browsing the web gets really annoying on a little screen.
Although it is amazing how powerful they are for the size.

WTF is the difference between a laptop and a notebook anyway ???

To answer your question, no I do not have one, yet :)

The screen size doesn't bother me, I'm used to browsing the internet on a phone half the time anyways and a laptop just seems to big to always carry it around, that's why it stayed at my house 99% of the time I owned it. This I can just put in my backpack and bring it everywhere. Plus it has better battery life. I like my netbook much better then my laptop and it even seems to run faster.

Okay, this is gonna sound really dumb but does your notebook have a USB drive?
I'm just asking because i might get me Mum a cheap notebook and get one of those wirelss Dongles. BT is doing P.A.Y.G dongles with 1gb free then £10 for every Gb after that.

I figured that for me Mum, that's a bit of free internet.

Yea it has 3 USB ports which isn't the most but yeah it has them.

No CD drive right?

The owner of my company has one which he tried to submerge, it still works, but the screen's kinda funky. Yeah he gets twice the battery life out of it compared to my laptop and it doesn't run nearly as hot. Everything seems to run smoother on it. He has begun his world travel section of his life so it's with him everywhere he goes.

No CD drive but really that's not a hindrance. My laptop has had a city of God DVD in it forever and that is the only disc that's ever been in there.

1) What THE FUCK is a netbook? Is a small laptop without a dvd-rom or something? Does it have an internal mechanical harddrive or is sd cards or solid storage?

2) Do they do anything better than the new Apple iPad? iPad's are not in the UK yet and I'm not sure how much they cost, but they look fooking amazing imo, very sexy little gadget and I will probably look into getting one in a year or so.

iPads are between $500 and $850 I think. I'm not sure what it does that my Droid or an iPhone can't do.

So if you want to browse the web, text message you have to:

A) lay it down flat on a table.

B) prop it up on your legs to type.

C) hold it with one hand and type with the other.

I understand the benefits of it, but I think it would be uncomfortable to use.

What type do you have amat? I'm thinking of picking one up for school.
