Pac's not ready for Floyd....
I hate to admit it but let's just take a look see at who he has fought....
Pac: Hatton, De la Hoya, Cotto
None of those guys are great on defense, none of those guys have fast hands, none of those guys move their heads, none of those guys counter very well, and their footwork is very slow.
Have we been seeing an optical illusion? Does Manny look fast as hell because everyone he fights isn't that fast and so Manny looks like the Flash when he's fighting?
Whatever the reason, just looking at who he has fought building up to this fight it doesn't instill me with much confidence, I'm pulling for Pac but I have to say Floyd is going to win by KO.

If he's not ready now he'll never be ready, because he's at his peak right now.
Re: Pac's not ready for Floyd....
That is true no doubt, but I was talking to 1 of my friends about this matchup and I said that I think Floyd takes out Pacquiao and he said what were my reasons, I stated he look spectacular in the Marquez and Mosley fights while Pacquiao's opponents had question marks next to them as in being shot, weight drain, over the hill, which were making him look great.
Then he said the same thing could be said about Mayweather's recent opponents. He countered that Marquez was a 36 year old jumping 2 weight classes and who was going life and death at LW against his opponents so Marquez looking great at welter was out of the question, Mosley although being the number 1 welter in the world was 38 years old and only looked good in the Margarito fight in the last few years plus the 16 months of inactivity is also factored in.
He made great points to countered me, and he also stated that Floyd will be close to 34 years old when the fight happens, and at that age your reflexes will start to dull, so in other words I'm going to have to revised my thinking and I now only slightly favor Floyd by a split Decision now as opposed to I thought he would steam roll Pacquiao to a UD or late stoppage.
I don't know it's just hard to predict. We'll just have to wait and see.

Spot on. Are we meant to wait another year or two? ;D
Re: Pac's not ready for Floyd....
I'm a Pacquiao fan yet I have doubts in him everytime he fights someone new. I thought De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto were going to rough him up but I was wrong each time.
Mayweather just has too many advantages over him. He's bigger than him, faster and smarter. Floyd has the power to hurt and KO Manny, he has the style to frustrate him, each time Floyd fights, I just can never see him losing. The only thing Manny has is whenever I doubt him, he shows me why I'm a fan. If anyone has a good shot beating Floyd, it's Manny.

I still give Manny the credits for fighting and beating those guys you mentioned. This is the reason why Pac vs Money should happen. This two guys both have the skills that we can only see once a lifetime and what a privilege to see 2 of them go at it on the ring.
Manny is fast because he's fast. Thats he main assest and everone on his camp admits right before each fight that Manny's main weapon will be speed. Hoya, Hatton and Cotto might lack speed but odd makers and fight fans did give them some advantages before the fight like Hoya being too big and will kill Pac if he hits him, or Hatton will push and bully Pac around and then Cotto will be able to absorb pac's punches. All those stuffs prove that all pac fought them at a high level of competition that it can go either way. It adds up to the excitement though.

He's in his 30's, if he isn't ready now then he will never be ready.
Re: Pac's not ready for Floyd....
My question is: Who is ready for Floyd? Pacquaio is ready, it's a question of whether he is good enough to win. Mayweather showed a sign of himself we have never seen before in his fight with Mosley and it was impressive. He was in deep serious trouble in round 2 and instead of getting on his bike he simply went to plan B and never looked back. Pacman will have to be at the very top of his game to beat Mayweather, different angles, constant pressure, speed and power and yet i have a feeling Mayweather will find some way to counter all of this.
Re: Pac's not ready for Floyd....
Pac's ready , he'd make it competitive. Let's not get in too much in the Mayweather hype. Sure , he dominated an old Mosley . Not taking anything away from PBF, but Mosley was losing to Mayorga before the ko. So its a pic em fight imo
Re: Pac's not ready for Floyd....
imo pacquiao is ready
- 15 years as professional boxer (floyd 13 years)
- 56 total fights (floyd 41 fights)
- 317 total rounds boxed (floyd 299)
- 68% ko (floyd 61% ko)
- 31 years old (floyd is 33 years old)
pacquiao is even more experienced than floyd as a boxer. he's ready.

True, Mayweather is good, but I'm not sold on the Mosley fight. There is always a way to beat a man who will not throw more than 40 punches a round.
Re: Pac's not ready for Floyd....
exactly , . Floyd was stunned by Mosley , and Pac is a fast starter , so he can catch Floyd early and change the whole fight. And I'll be the first one to say it
Pacman wins almost every round against Mosley .
