No matter how many times we get dumped, betrayed, lied to...... every time our hopes are raised high..... we get drop-kicked and disappointed yet again. And what do we do? We bitch and moan for a while, eat a ton of ice cream (at least that's what girls do), and let ourselves be led by the nose ring the next time out, like nothing ever happened. What's the old saying.... "Hope springs eternal"?

Well.... at least I get the satisfaction of seeing it coming. I posted what was basically a PLEA in another thread for a good fight, not another boring snoozefest, with both fighters basically scared to go out on the limb. And what happened? Exactly that. Haye spent the whole damn fight bobbing and weaving..... and Klitschko was content to stand outside and let it happen (lest Haye should land a lucky punch and end the fight).
That's IT !!! I'm done with the heavyweights (yeah.... sure). I'm going back to the lower weights, where they have REAL fights (until the next hyped HW fight, when I'll come running back and get my hopes dashed once again). Masochists is what we are.

I thought Wlad took a good few chances really. I bet he hasn't thrown that many right hands before the 6th round in a long time. I thought the 12th round was excellent (well by recent HW standards anyway) but that was only because Haye knew he needed a KO and half went for it, just wish he had done that in the early rounds.

Even in fights that most people find boring I'll still find something to enjoy about it. The only time where I'll be really bored with a fight is a low contact one between guys with no power.

He sold the fight on his mouth, and people bought into it.
As Fenster said, on the night he performed better than anyone with more than a passing interest in the sport expected.
What really were people thinking would happen?
It's like people going to see the 3rd in a trilogy of shit films at the cinema, and expecting it to be be good unlike the previous 2.

And when did I say "one-sided?" I thought the most likely outcome was a Wlad KO, but Haye had a great punchers chance too.
The unpredictableness of boxing is why I love it. I have bought far worse PPVs than that and will again in the future. Trust me.

Early on it looked like it could be great, but Haye gave up and Wlad imposed the jab. It was fight over except for that exchange in the 10th and a couple of moments in the 12th. Someone needs to bring the best out of Wlad. Haye was not on that level.
It wasn't a particularly good fight, Wlad was pressing forwards and Haye wouldn't do anything. It got tedious. Could have been much better.
