Your weekly training
Hey Everyone, just wanted to see how my weeks training compares to everybody elses and if anyone had any tips on how to improve mine (too much/too little of anything etc.). Here's mine anyway:
Monday - Cardio, Usually a run with sprints included or go to the gym, 20 mins on treadmill, 20 on stair master, 20 on cross trainer, and 10 on rower, 20 minute stretch
Tuesday - Boxing gym - Warm up run, shadow boxing, skipping, sparring, 20 minute stretch
Wednesday - day off - Maybe a light run followed by a lot of stretching.
Thursday - Conditioning - Usually 1 hour 30 minute of circuit training and strength training, occasionally including bag work ( Usually just throwing lots of shots rather than focusing on technique) Stretching
Friday - Boxing gym - usually goes, warm up run, 15 mins shadow boxing, 20 mins skipping, bag work and pad work 35 mins, circuit/tonne up ( press ups/sit ups/squat thrusts etc. ) 20 mins. Stretch for 20 mins
Saturday - Sparring
Sunday - Day off.

I think you may be hurting yourself on Thursday- why bother throwing a lot of punches and not throwing them technically properly? You are just ingraining poor technique. Also, that is the only bag work you do during the week? I would really increase that- really, really- and pay a lot of attention to the quality of punches thrown.

Thanks for the advice grey. Also do bag work on a friday, and sometimes on a tuesday if not sparring. Will scrap the fast punches on a thursday and do it technical instead. Cheers.

Mine varies week to week, this week ive stayed away from sparring / punching in general coz of an arm/shoulder injury but usually it will look something like
Monday - swim anywhere from half a mile to a mile all crawl
Tuesday - Boxing Gym Circuits for about an hour
Wednesday - Boxing Gym Technique / Sparring
Thursday - Boxing Gym Circuits for about an hour
Friday - Swim in the morning half a mile Boxing Gym Technique in the evening
saturday - day off
Sunday - Boxing Gym Sparring
this week an unusual week
Monday - 10k road run
Tuesday - Swam a mile
Wednesday (today) - nothing yet may go do a bit on the treadmill later or might just have a day off
Thursday - day off (in london with work)
Friday - swim maybe
Saturday - 10k hopefully
Sunday - day off
