Chavez Jr. vs. Manfredo Jr chat/fight thread + the Pac-JMM III replay tonight on HBO
Chavez Jr. vs. Manfredo Jr. figures to suck, but up first, the Pac - JMM III replay will be worth a 2nd look, i'd like to score it on my big screen in HD. :fight:
November 19
At Houston (HBO): Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Peter Manfredo Jr., 12 rounds, for Chavez's WBC middleweight title.
As for the main event, Julio Jr. should prevail, that's the reason they chose Manfredo, but who knows, stranger thing have happened.
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Manfredo Jr + the Pac - JMM III replay Saturday on HBO
Battle of the inferior Jnr types? I think I am going to give boxing a miss this weekend. A crappy result followed by a crappy matchup. How they are spoiling the boxing public with their generosity. I can't be arsed with it.
Fuck you, Bob Arum!
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Manfredo Jr + the Pac - JMM III replay Saturday on HBO
Manfredo is the bigger man and far more experienced.
For fucks sake he got a draw with Jeff Lacy a few years back !
But, like I said that was a few years ago, and I fear Manfredo may be a bit past it now.
I'm picking him to pull the upset though and expose Chavez, who is all heart, but very short on skill.

At least Jr vs. Jr isn't a PPV, the highlight is going to be the Pac-JJM III replay, I believe we need to have a replay. "scoring thread" saturday night, and see how everyone scores it this time.
As for Chavez Jr. vs. Manfredo Jr, Julio should take care of business.

I can't blame you there miles, but you might want to check out the forum's comments after the Pac-JMM III replay, it'll probably be more of the same shit, but WTF..:-X
I wouldn't mind seeing Peter Jr. light up Julio Jr, but unfortunately Peter Jr. can't crack an egg.
Keep in mind miles, you need to watch all "big" fights, however boring they might be, or you'll lose your status as a "purist", true fan of boxing or a heavyweight armchair expert on this forum. ;D

I've seen Manfredo KO people before, he had a sensational stoppage of Joey Spina a few years back.

That makes two of us !
Lets just hope that its not a repeat of Manfredo vs. Bika.
Though I don't see how it could be as Chavez Jr. is nowhere near the puncher or animal that Bika is.
Re: Chavez Jr. vs. Manfredo Jr + the Pac - JMM III replay Saturday on HBO
Hoping the winner of chavez jr vs manfredo jr goes up against cotto margo winner. Chavez jr vs. cotto/margarito would make my heart sing. JCC jr should've been pelted with more mexican peso coins back in his vanda fight, he probably took more punishment from the water bottles being thrown at him back then than the punches he got from all his fights combined.

Assuming Julio Jr. wins, either Cotto or Margarito would then have to move up to Middleweight to face Julio Jr., so those fights aren't likely to happen.
What i'd really like to see is Julio Jr vs. Sergio Martinez, but team Chavez knows better then to take that fight, Jr. would get massacred. You kinda wonder though, how long Julio will be able to duck Martinez, maybe another year at the most.

Manfredo is pretty much just another hand picked 'can that Julio Jr should be able to get by, an upset however, would tickle the shit outta me.

I think Manfredo is his biggest step up yet. He's a top 20 supermiddleweight.

I don't see how Arum is at fault here? He matched Pacquiao TOUGH against Marquez. He is willing to match him up TOUGH against Marquez again. What is wrong with that?
Chavez Jr. doesn't really deserve to be on TV, but the problem is he sells...A LOT.
Do you know how many tickets and the viewship numbers are for Chavez Jr.? They're above most other boxers.

Yep, Julio Jr has a huge Latino fan-base, and Arum has had him headlining PPV's starting 3 or 4 years ago, way before he was even a trinket holder.
I don't really dislike Julio Jr, but i'm gonna love it when he finally steps up and fights a pug with a pair, like Sergio Martinez, and gets exposed and annihilated.
