What an impressive display of heart, grit, and endurance. His fight against Prescott stole the show in my opinion. His face was a bloody mess in the 5th round! To go on and fight to win up until the final minutes of the fight is amazing.

Full of tenacity, this dude has heart.. But this wasnt exactly a good performance.

wouldn't be shocked, Rios has been talking about moving up in weight soon, but I'd imagine it would only go down if the Gamboa fight doesn't materializeQuote:

Although I agree the performance was only against Prescott, that doesn't diminish that it was an impressive performance. I also thought Prescott looked very good in this fight and better than he had in the past.Quote:

Yeah Prescott was winning on all cards before stoppage I thought he looked good in the fight. Alvarado did well to come back though. I think Prescott would be a test for any fighter at 140, if he didn't fade in the later rounds he would no doubt be a champion at 140.
I was rooting for Prescott and was pleasantly surprised to see him outboxing Alvarado and busting him up most of the fight.
Then he tired, and Alvarado turned up the heat and somehow pulled off a very courageous comeback.

Yeah I enjoyed this fight also. I thought it was a good tough performance from Alvarado, he was bleeding from everything in his face and didn't let it bother him. Prescott was outboxing him for most of the fight and kept going hard till the end. Good performance I thought. I was a bit disapointed with Casamayor though. Really showed his age and didn't really seem like he wanted to fight, just hold. Once the ref put a stop to that he didn't have much of an answer.

True Alvarado showed heart & should be applauded, but from here he's going to struggle against the top guys at 140.
Arum is gonna have to be careful when matching up a fighter like Alvarado.. He will look at his best against fellow brawlers but put him in there against an elite boxer-puncher with a good chin, and he'll end up losing everytime..
I used to be high on him few years back, but now Im off the bandwagon...
Like my boy ElTerrible stated, if he's gonna go through a life and death struggle against someone like Prescott, that kinda shows his ceiling.. I dont see him getting any better than he is now..
He is what he is... A big hearted brawler.
Put him in there against Maidana or Rios ASAP..
