Robert 'The Nordic Nightmare' Helenius...Will he return??
I have just been reading boxingscene and not only did Helenius injury his right hand in the Chisora win, but six weeks prior to the fight he injured his shoulder which is apparently keeping him out for at least another six months. The doctors might recommend that he might not be fit to fight again. I dont know what to think about Helenius, I think he did lose the Chisora fight but he didn't do as bad as what some people were making out he did IMO. He clearly has injury problems, but I think when he is fit again I wouldn't mind seeing him in with Chisora in a neutral venue however I dont think his promotion would let that happen.
Does anybody think he can do anything when he returns from injury? Do people believe the injury was the reason for the not so good performance against Chisora. I think it's an interesting debate because Helenius looked strong in a lot of his wins before the Chisora fight or was that simply a case of his opposition was truely past their best?

According to Fat Dan @ ESPN, Helenius won't be back in action until August:
Robert Helenius will have shoulder surgery, miss March 31 European title defense - ESPN
Vitali has a fight with Chisora February 18th, so maybe Helenius will fight what's left of Chisora in August, after Vitali stomps a mudhole in his ass.

Put me in that same boat - When I heard the uproar about the result, I fully expected to see Chisora annihilate Helenius when I caught the replay. I didn't see that to be honest. Helenius was certainly in there.
I don't see why he couldn't do good after a comeback - he has a chance against anybody below the Klit brothers if he can recover from his injuries.
Fighting with injury is a bitch. Just look at the difference in Floyd vs Castillo 1 vs Castillo 2 - Fight 1 with a torn rotator cuff, fight 2 completely healthy, different fight.
I know people use injury as an excuse for bad performances but fact is injuries do occur before or within fights. It's unlucky but should be taken into consideration when assessing a performance. I think he does better against Chisora in a rematch.
Yes it no doubt was a lot closer than i thought it would be, I too was expecting Chisora to whipe the floor with Helenius. The performance from Chisora just certifies that Vitali is going to do an damaging number on him, I really dont see how Chisora can beat him. If Helenius gets fit again I would like to see him in the ring with Chisora again though just to put to bed that he was injured. I wouldn't mind seeing Helenius in with a Klit late 2012 because with his size he certainly has more of a chance than Chisora. I think Helenius against either Klit is one of the best heavyweight fights to make at the momment.
On a side note though, Helenius needs to cut his hair, I dont think I have seen such a horrible hair cut on a boxer ever. He looks just as ugly as Valuev, and fuck me thats ugly ;D

Helenius was expected to KO Chisora and the man was lucky if he won 2 rounds against him.
I'd say that is pretty bad.
Chisora absolutely dominated the action.
But, he did not hurt the giant viking. That lop dick has a good chin I'll give him that.

Helenius vs Thompson would have been a solid match too.
Haye ROCKED him in the last round.
Too bad he was too much of a puss to do that earlier.

Maybe the injury was the reason he looked so poor in the Chisora fight. Up until that fight he looked like the future of the division. He puts punches together wel but couldnt vs Chis. Or maybe its because Chisora is better than we thought after he got beat by Fury. I guess we will find out on Feb 18th
Re: Robert 'The Nordic Nightmare' Helenius...Will he return??
Wlad has only said Vitali is the "better boxer" out of respect to his older brother and because it took Wlad longer to finish an IN SHAPE Sam Peter.
Up to & After the fight vs Chisora how do you guys rate Helenius?
Let's talk hypothetical matchups for a bit (give 2 answers, BC [before Chisora] & AC [after Chisora]):
Wladimir
Vitali
Thompson
Mitchell
Chagaev
Povetkin
Adamek
Holyfield
Boytsov
Arreola
Haye
And well hell, anyone else you care to mention
