I disagree with that but what I really want to know is, would Floyd have even mixed it up with the fab 4??
The killers in that era had no problems facing each other but would Floyd get in that mix?
First off, once you get past the article headline being a lie then you'll see a more reasonable Duran approach. Duran never said Mayweather would have been ordinary. What he said and was making it out to be is that Mayweather wouldn't have stood out from that elite hall of fame group he mixed it up with. He basically said Mayweather would have belonged in that group but wouldn't have stood out from them like they were second tier like he is doing to today's era. And with that point I don't necessarily disagree although I find it funny that Mayweather probably would have had the easiest time with Duran's style and maybe have knocked him from that group. Duran was 1-4 in that group and squeaked by for the lone victory at that. Every opponent in that group beat him. He might want to realize he actually was the low man on that totem pole. Adding Mayweather may have taken his name from belonging.

Guys like Leonard, Hearns and Duran had to deal with the same criticism from their predecessors during their heyday. The only difference is that there is more media attention and exposure for people to express their opinions.
i always thought duran was way overrated, Hagler Leonard and Hearns were all way better and floyd would toy with duran to a shut out UD or later ko or maybe he pussys out at just quits again lol

All i know is floyd is a problem for any era. He beats duran in any era.
Duran was a better fighter than Hearns and Ray Leonard.
And even when Duran was past his prime, older, slower, and waaay out of his weight class(135), he still won rds at 160 against a prime Hagler.
In the era of same-day weigh-ins when men fought where they really belonged, Duran was a Lightweight 135 lbs. Leonard was 147lbs. Hearns best weight was really 154. Hagler was 160.
135 lb Champ in 1972, Duran's spectacular run culminated in 1980 by going up 12 lbs to 147 and defeating a prime undefeated Sugar Ray Leonard in a 15 rd battle.
Duran was 71 wins and 1 loss (avenged), 55 KOs going into that 1st Ray Leonard fight.
It's unfortunate that people nowadays judge Duran by his high-profile 80s fights when he was past his prime, older, slower, and fatter rather than by his prime through the 1970s at Lightweight.
It's like ignoring a prime Mike Tyson's 80s performances, like it didn't happen, and basing everything you know on his post-prison, past his prime performances instead. That's what ignoramuses do to Duran nowadays...
You cant ignore what duran has achieved but floyd is great at adapting and that alone would expose durans flaws if they did fight prime for prime.
Obviously, im going to back floyd but i can honestly say i wouldnt know the outcome with floyd against a prime leonard or the original hitman.

I know 99.9% of people don't have the cajones to be fighters.

Duran's one of the best fighters of All-Time.
Duran was a great at lightweight, Floyd was probably better welterweight that Duran although the version that beat Leonard would make it a close fight.
