Froch continues to bury his head in the sand and try to rewrite history
"Everyone could see what was going to happen in that fight and the fact is I have nothing more to prove in a rematch. I was dominating the bout and it was becoming very one-sided."

Froch continues to go on about Groves lack of "Respect and class"
"I'm very reluctant to hand Groves a pay-day, especially when he behaves like an idiot all the time. I don't like him as he has absolutely no respect, no class and is a spoilt kid.
"Of course he wants to fight me again as he wants to make a killing. But why should I? I'm the champion and that means I call the shots."
Carl Froch blasts George Groves behaviour - Sports Mole
Carl seems reluctant to face the very real truth that the fight being stopped early also robbed Groves of a chance of a clear victory. it is all about him as usual and yet the Boxing world at large sees things very differently
"There's no way it should have been stopped," confirmed the former world featherweight champion. "It should have been allowed to have continued for at least 20 seconds and then we would all have found out if George was in serious trouble or whether he was about to dig himself out of it.
"For me George's performance was outstanding and to be robbed of the chance of a victory like that has done neither him, boxing nor indeed Carl Froch any favours."

He is even insistent that his own ineptitude lead to Groves success early in the fight despite George putting on a magnificent display. He out boxed, out punched, bamboozled and floored Carl and yet he still finds it hard to give credit where it is due whilst calling Groves disrespectful as though other competitors owe him something more than the basic respectfulness George showed him without resorting to licking his boots.
“To come back to stop him… because it was an appalling display from me, from round one,” Froch conceded, ruefully. “George Groves was really good from round one so after all that, imagine how pleased I am. To snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, to do what I did against someone who was horrible during the build-up, it was very satisfying.
“The judges’ scores were irrelevant because it didn’t go to them. By round four I had it level, maybe a point or two in it, but obviously my scoring would be biased towards me. Round nine would have been 10-8, but you can’t count that. I was probably behind but it was close. Boxing is a 12-round sport – I think it should still be 15 – and it’s only over when the fat lady sings.”

Froch contradicts himself yet again,! the thing is he no's he may lose in a rematch with Groves,
but at his age that panning he took, the writing may be on the wall, he took a lot of punishment
in that fight. Carl says he does not want to give George a large pay day, when he no's himself
he would receive HIS largest pay day facing Groves, what a stupid thing to say.
Ward or any of the other Champions or contenders would not generate, interest or more important MONEY and he no's it.;)

All im saying is this is the first time this has happened to froch when he is under the spotlight and everyone is asking him the questions.
Im only having a friendly dig at JC because at least froch is prepared to fight these young guns coming up where JC did not.
The fight was close and im backing groves all the way to bring an upset in the divison, but even though froch was getting his arse beat he was coming back and is always at his best in the championship rounds!
Froch has fought everyone and ducked no one.
As the champion he gave groves a chance and underestimated him and paid for it in the early rounds.
Groves does deserve another shot but at least old froch didnt retire or have a few easy fights as he approaches 40..theres talks of GGG and a ward rematch.
He is still fighting the best at this twilight stage.
Give the man a break.
The thing is Froch is a hypocrite, he took the Groves fight thinking it was easy money, but it turned
out to be far from easy. At the time Froch was shooting his mouth off at Calzaghe, Joe told him
I would fight you but you NO it's about the money.
Joe at the time had bigger fish to fry,! and at that time Carl could no draw fly's at that point in his carer, Groves was higher profile he had beat DeGale, and there was a big payday for Carl he was
thinking George would be a walk over.
Many times I have repeated myself boxing first and utmost is a business, a sport second weather
we like it or not, promoters and boxer must make money you have in general a short carer,
Froch is NO different the sport is driven by money, don't believe this bullshit I will fight anyone
crap yep if the money is right.
Nobody fights for nothing in pro boxing it's a fact, we may not like the truth in the words of
Don King you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.;)

This fight is basically Froch's version of Calzaghe-Reid then? ;)
Re: Froch continues to bury his head in the sand and try to rewrite history
I never had a lot of respect for Froch in the first place, but I have absolutely zero respect for him now. He's scared to fight Groves again and there's no getting away from that. The excuses he's making are pathetic and his memory of what happened during the fight seems a little "skewed" to say the least. I can only put this down to the sheer number of largely unanswered punches Groves hit him with while beating the shit out of him from the very first round.
Why does he think anyone wants to see him fight Ward again? I'd rather watch paint dry than see another dull and one-sided fight between those two. The only fight that makes sense is a rematch against Groves.
He talks about his legacy, but let's be realistic here. Carl Froch is an incredibly limited and technically very poor boxer who has got to where he is because of his amazing stamina and granite chin. Groves was beating him up and making him look like a clown and it's not the first time he's got lucky or been completely outclassed. All this talk of Calzaghe is absolute bollocks. Calzaghe would have humiliated him in the same way Ward and Groves did, only Carl wouldn't have had the luxury of a ridiculously early stoppage to bail him out in that fight.
Stop making excuses Carl and try living up to your reputation as a fighter who will fight anyone, anywhere. Right now you're looking like you're scared of a guy who you said wasn't in your league.

Is there anything positive we can say about froch after this performance?
Can froch not cash out like JC did or will this groves fight follow him like a bad smell.
Froch was doing all this dancing with stars or whatever crap on tv, hes mind probably wasnt on it and he did underestimate groves..perhaps he had a really bad night coupled with a great opponent.
There is a saying when you get to the Top of the mountain, the only way is down very true, Froch has a
great chin but you can't take punches, at this point in his carer there may be easy fights out there
for Carl. What that fight has done is give his next opponent, who ever he may be is hope,! if
Groves can do it so can I.
Carl fights at the top level,! really there are not many easy fights, with his style he has to take some
to give some, with George he took a lot and gave very little to be honest.
Re: Froch continues to bury his head in the sand and try to rewrite history
GREAT NIGHT FOR gROVES NO DOUBT BUT fROCH IS THE tWILIGHT wARRIOR. And in his Noonday Sun he would have minced Calzaghe for a pie.
