Pacman refused to KO Rios out of compassion?
Do you buy this shit or what? Weve heard this from pac's camp many times and " compassion " is being thrown around again.. even pac himself claims he refused to knock Rios out , out of compassion..
They said the same thing after the margarito fight... I kind of believe it somewhat but then again margarito hurt him real bad with a body punch so maybe he didnt want to get overaggressive?
Do u think the Marquez KO affected him mentally or do you think he really let rios slide out of compassion?

I have no idea if he ever, let up on the gas out of compassion or any other reason, but it would not surprise me. He always talks about giving the fans a good show or a good fight.
Manny doesn't strike me as the kind to take pleasure in beating someone for the fun of it.
That... And he knows how it feels to be brutally KOd, maybe he doesn't wanna inflict that on others.
That's not a great attribute for a fighter to have, sympathy.
Certainly not a great thing to develop when you're getting older and slowing down.
Re: Pacman refused to KO Rios out of compassion?
Yeah it seems plausible but I don't buy it.
No boxer would ever be so "compassionate" to sacrifice a KO win!
A KO win for Manny would have been an excellent bounce back too!
He has fought many "friendly" boxers, atleast toward him anyway. Marquez, Hatton. He did not extend Ricky the same compassion and certainly did not hold back on Marquez lol.
No excuse needed anyway, he absolutely destroyed Rios who can be lauded for his stable chin in this fight!!
Re: Pacman refused to KO Rios out of compassion?
He said the same thing with Margarito, and I just don't buy it.
He was winning comfortably and he was fighting a guy who could punch, he just got knocked out cold in his last fight so he decided to coast it out, not take any risks and get the W, which was smart and what he should have done.
I was more disappointed in Rios for not going balls out to try to get a KO of his own, knowing that he was losing the fight big and needed a KO.

If he feels that way he should get out of the game now, because he's not going to get the same treatment from his opponents.
Re: Pacman refused to KO Rios out of compassion?
I believe it for Margarito's case, but not entirely for Rios's case.... Pac stepped off the gas a bit with Rios, I saw. But a KO? I'm not convinced of that?!?!

Yeah that's what I reckon, maybe if the opponent was a featherfist like Malinaggi I could believe it but an opponent who could possibly upset you it's foolish to not try put them away.
From what I ascertain from the Margarito fight, Pac was trying pretty hard, he batted the shit out of him!
You gotta remember that although Pac is a hard hitter, he did step up from much lower weights still!

Did anyone watch the last 4 rounds of the Pac/Margo fight? Pac CLEARLY didn't want to punch Margo's eye out of the broken socket that it was in...
Margo could have lost an eye... Pac was very kind. VERY kind.
