Watching his fight with Fonfara showed me that he is the same that I always thought. He relies too much on his athleticism. He is wide open to get hit. He is lucky that Fonfara isn't a puncher at all. Also, I've seen Fonfara fight a few times and he never impressed me.
Bhop will easily make Stevenson fight his fight. Bhop will slow done the fight with ease and just counter Stevenson at will. Kovalev will KO Stevenson easily. There is no way Stevenson is going to take those shots from kovalev.
I don't think Stevenson would last 2 rounds with Kovalev , and B-HOP would UD him.
I agree with both of you. I think Hopkins will win a close ugly decision. Depending on how Kov takes a punch it could be first to land but think Kovs defense is better. Both are good fights tho that I hope happen. Id prefer Kov v Stevenson and then winner faces Bhop because Id rather see the 2 of them fight rather then Hopkins fight both of them.

Stevenson has some issues with Fonfara so now his has issues with Hopkins. This happens after every fight that does not come off exactly to the script. And just like 99% of those times in this case the two opponents fight nothing alike. Hopkins waiting for a mistake and throwing 6 punches a rd is not going to beat this guy. Add to that, Hopkins is looking a little gun shy these days and with a puncher like Stevenson his punch output will probably drop to 4 per round.
This fight should be easy to make and great for unification which I lament for but I'm no longer sure I want to see it as it might resemble Holmes/Ali even though his fans believe it will look like Hopkins/Pavlik. I'm afraid it will be the end of the old war horse although he's probably seeing that longevity record as achievable.
Kovalev and that right hand of his is a different story
I've never understood folks overreacting to one fight. People have off nights. What if Stevenson had the flu in the lead up? If he doesn't mention it he's trashed for looking terrible, if he does he's trashed for making excuses. Stuff happens so judge on trends not instances.

But I don't think its a one fight instance rather a pattern of some defensive flaws. No one is yelling exposure, but maybe a confirmation and vision for expected match ups. Regardless of what he says this morning, his team and in fairness the majority of fans were considering this a matter of time on a one way street. The Dawson fight convinced him he can cave in houses and they got tunnel vision. I see so much about his 'work rate' but frankly his combination punching is rare and he has a lot of gaps. He should go to school on this fight and realize his 'hurt hand' had nothing to do with his stiff legs and hanging chin.Quote:

just so people know, as some of you have stated, this wasnt a fight that "exposed" stevenson for me but a fight to provide more evidence of why i dont think he is that great. i mainly made this thread because im sure that stevenson is fighting bhop next so im making my prediction now that bhop will slow the fight down a lot and just pick of stevenson.
and if somehow, by some crazy miracle a kovalev fight happens, i think that kovalev KO's him. i have said that for a while now though so its nothing new. the fonfara fight just helped me realize it even more.
