I agree with both of you. I think Hopkins will win a close ugly decision. Depending on how Kov takes a punch it could be first to land but think Kovs defense is better. Both are good fights tho that I hope happen. Id prefer Kov v Stevenson and then winner faces Bhop because Id rather see the 2 of them fight rather then Hopkins fight both of them.

Yep Hopkins old mans him, but Kovalev will crush him and anybody else in the division.

Hop beats both. He's too clever and neither Kovalev or Stevenson are fast enough or throw enough punches to make Hop uncomfortable. Hops lateral movement n defense will shut down kovalev by not letting him set his feet to punch. Against Adonis hop will set traps n walk him into shots. He will also play mind games with Stevenson and use his experience to overwhelm him.

If Hopkins feels the power he could just try to survive and not do enough to win, kinda like what happened when he fought Dawson.

Stevenson has some issues with Fonfara so now his has issues with Hopkins. This happens after every fight that does not come off exactly to the script. And just like 99% of those times in this case the two opponents fight nothing alike. Hopkins waiting for a mistake and throwing 6 punches a rd is not going to beat this guy. Add to that, Hopkins is looking a little gun shy these days and with a puncher like Stevenson his punch output will probably drop to 4 per round.

This fight should be easy to make and great for unification which I lament for but I'm no longer sure I want to see it as it might resemble Holmes/Ali even though his fans believe it will look like Hopkins/Pavlik. I'm afraid it will be the end of the old war horse although he's probably seeing that longevity record as achievable.


Kovalev and that right hand of his is a different story
