It is cliche and said millions of times but you are right ykdadamaja.
Having a bad day mate? ;D
They are all the same and the two oldest are the worst. Taken from the rib of the NBA by changing a letter in 1962 the WBA is the oldest "world contested" boxing title on earth. Of all the people to water things down in such a way one would like to believe that they'd be the last. Its been 3 years now since they said that they were going to get rid of the redundancy. And of all the divisions to keep it in wtf? If you were going to make a start to honour what was said surly this stagnant now evolving division with new blood would be the place to start. Now Browne might fight Parker and Ortiz whoever while they wait out Wlad/Fury. Why add the titles? They are paperweights? Why do fighters agree to pay sanctioning fees for these false idols? How about just giving everybody a ribbon and a trophy?
Just call these trinket holders what they are, contenders. Vargas just knocked out Ali and won the WBO title. They have no interim or regular and Max called him a contender. Its like erosion therapy.
So stupid they are collecting 3 sanctioning fees.
It was the beginning of the 'tournament' so Browne has a court order to face Oquendo now. Ortiz faces Ustinov...why, who knows :greedy:, and then he fights Fury v Wlad winner. That's assuming all comes off injury and BS free but as long as they are shoveling the shit in the right direction..
Browne side seems irrelevant. The real single wba champ in end will be Ortiz- Fury-Wlad winner
The only division they don't have multi champs is lightwelter, however, they have a vacant title lined up for that division too.
They took alphabet piss taking to a new level. Thing is though, as much as fans hate it, the fighters and promoters love it.
And that’s the thing that is the most puzzling and most disturbing. It’s not just "money" and if it is then these people are thieves. It’s something else and it’s almost as if fighters are wired differently even though there are still some around that we could legitimately call throw backs. It’s been nurtured though imo. The whole concept of risk and reward has been changed. I think the eighties started us down this past and more specifically Ray Leonard. He changed prize fighting. A separation occurred though. If only he had a longer career. Shelf life entered the equation. Leonard fought everyone and took risks...(big ones) and because of it was the first 100 million dollar fighter. He could have made that 100 million today having never fought those battles. Today it’s a bluff and these fighters, promoters and broadcasters have to know it.
I bet they're feeling like a bunch of total idiots as they sit there counting their multiple sets of sanctioning fees for each weight class.
