Whoops, now edited. ;)
Clev vs Braehmer
Changed it because BoxingBantz is my twitter name and my blog name. Made sense and made it less confusing for myself. Feel free to call me koppas, though. ;D

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
i hope it happens
which fight do you reckon has faced the better opposition?
-
Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
de gales to lose
too fast, too slick for george im afraid
hope groves is getting a decent payday out of this
-
Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
i really dont see it with either of these guys , Groves is awful , no defence or chin , DeGale just doesnt punch correctly and has little power to take him into the elite , DeGale is also a total prick.

Especially when you consider that James DeGale is hardly an oil painting himself with his long head.

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
Degale wins all day long. Hes destined for great things imo

This. Unfortunately.

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
Degale wins this easy . KO around the 4th in a one-sided fight.
I also think he is destined for great things but finding it VERY difficult to warm to the guy

There's no 'might be' about it. He is the best either has fought and DeGale made him look shit.

Groves was made to look very ordinary vs Kenny Anderson. Tough pro that he is, if he nearly gets knocked out by Anderson, DeGale is going to make him look very silly.
-
Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
That's got the makings of a decent bill right there. John Murray v Kevin Mitchell would be a nice addition to make it really worth a PPV if they can cancel Murray's upcoming bout against some Spanish sun-dried tomato can.

anderson fight done groves the world of good
the sort of fighter who is honest enough to learn from his mistakes and not allow himself to fall into the same hole again. Still think its a bit much asking him to repeat in the pro game what he did to de gale in the amateurs (light years in terms of difference)
de gale is genuinely impressing me with every fight he has

Kevin Mitchell is finished by the sounds of things and is even considering retirement. He'll never get in the ring with Murray. Turning down the fight is the silliest thing he has ever done in terms of his career.

dont think he is exactly finished with the fight game, just someone who has found it rather hard to come back from the anti climax that was the katsidis fight
hope to god he doesnt choose to make his comeback against john murray, any slight ringrust and murray will have him out of there

Depends on what you read really - a lot of rumours going around that he is thinking of packing it all in.

Seems to be fed up of boxing, the politics, personal problems, maybe doesn't have the hunger anymore - all seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment with the lad.

how do you think a fight between anderson and smith would go?
he was put down by anderson and an it wasnt a great performance by groves, he wasnt nearly knocked out tho, good fight that one

Exactly. Which makes the way DeGale stopped him even more impressive.

i like smith, ive enjoyed his fights
not so sure he would destroy anderson tho, it would be a close fight, smith has some good skills and is tough and rugged but doesnt really excel in any department
he isnt fast enough and doesnt hit hard enough to give any really tallented super middleweight any problems
there is nothing defendable about smiths other defeat

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
DeGale and Groves are both in the Ringside studio tonight on Sky Sports.
6pm.
Should be interesting. ;D

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
I still can't decide if the bad blood between them is genuine or has been part of the 'sell' along.
The same with Haye vs Audley.
Former friends, now hate each other, then friends again after the fight.
Still, I'd be pissed off if one of my so called 'friends' went on national tv calling me ugly. ;D (I'm not by the way, I'm gorgeous).

groves was handing it out to degale the moment he won that gold medal
degale wants revenge for getting beat in the amateurs and the fact groves has told anyone who will listen how he beat him up in the amateurs
theres bad blood there definitely

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
De Gale IMO is going to make Groves look daft. As one or two others have said on here I too think he truly is destined for greatness. I'd love Groves to win but I have to be honest with myself and say Groves has close to no chance.

I think the Smith fight has too much on it. If you watch DeGale vs Kobal from the weekend, I can't help but feel DeGale is a bit too Pitty Patter to get to greatness and is a bit short on power. I'd say Froch at SMW would steam DeGale.

I thought he was just using last weekends fight as a glorified sparring session like he said he was going to, he spent most of the fight in the orthodox stance and looked comfortable doing it against a limited opponent in fairness. As for Froch, yes right at this minute De Gale is too inexperienced for that level BUT I feel that when he reaches his prime, it will exceed where Froch is right now.

Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
Anyone watch Ringside??
Dear dear me...... James DeGale is seriously gonna win 0 fans at all..... He's actually just like a child..... And a child that thinks he's gangster...... I'm really beginning to develop quite a serious distaste for the guy....
-
Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
That 'ugly kid' bullshit is lame as fuck. It's become very boring.
Fair play for Groves not rising to it. 99% of the people watching the fight will want him to win. Unfortunately it's not going to happen and we're going to see an even more smug James DeGale.
-
Re: Announcement tomorrow regarding Groves-DeGale
Yeah I saw Ringside, DeGale is like a fucking kid. The best he can do is constantly call Groves an ugly kid? Pathetic. I respect his skills and like watching him fight, but he's seriously hard to like out of the ring. Groves did well I thought, stayed calm throughout its just a shame I can't see him being able to shut DeGale up when they fight :-\

couldnt have put it better myself
and in general Groves has by far fought the better opposition
perhaps if you compare all their opponents smith is the best but the next few would be anderson, admamu, that mexican fella
