yep it was a cracking performance, i reckon a little to much is being read into this fight tho when looking at the groves fight
Groves was made to look very ordinary vs Kenny Anderson. Tough pro that he is, if he nearly gets knocked out by Anderson, DeGale is going to make him look very silly.

That's got the makings of a decent bill right there. John Murray v Kevin Mitchell would be a nice addition to make it really worth a PPV if they can cancel Murray's upcoming bout against some Spanish sun-dried tomato can.

anderson fight done groves the world of good

the sort of fighter who is honest enough to learn from his mistakes and not allow himself to fall into the same hole again. Still think its a bit much asking him to repeat in the pro game what he did to de gale in the amateurs (light years in terms of difference)

de gale is genuinely impressing me with every fight he has

Kevin Mitchell is finished by the sounds of things and is even considering retirement. He'll never get in the ring with Murray. Turning down the fight is the silliest thing he has ever done in terms of his career.

dont think he is exactly finished with the fight game, just someone who has found it rather hard to come back from the anti climax that was the katsidis fight

hope to god he doesnt choose to make his comeback against john murray, any slight ringrust and murray will have him out of there

Depends on what you read really - a lot of rumours going around that he is thinking of packing it all in.

Seems to be fed up of boxing, the politics, personal problems, maybe doesn't have the hunger anymore - all seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment with the lad.

how do you think a fight between anderson and smith would go?

he was put down by anderson and an it wasnt a great performance by groves, he wasnt nearly knocked out tho, good fight that one

Exactly. Which makes the way DeGale stopped him even more impressive.

i like smith, ive enjoyed his fights

not so sure he would destroy anderson tho, it would be a close fight, smith has some good skills and is tough and rugged but doesnt really excel in any department

he isnt fast enough and doesnt hit hard enough to give any really tallented super middleweight any problems

there is nothing defendable about smiths other defeat

DeGale and Groves are both in the Ringside studio tonight on Sky Sports.

    6pm.

    Should be interesting.

I still can't decide if the bad blood between them is genuine or has been part of the 'sell' along.

The same with Haye vs Audley.

Former friends, now hate each other, then friends again after the fight.

Still, I'd be pissed off if one of my so called 'friends' went on national tv calling me ugly. (I'm not by the way, I'm gorgeous).
