Wow.
He said he didn't do enough to win "in Argentina". I think he's looking to the future and not wanting to poison the water with HBO more than anything else.
I agree, in a champs home country you need to destroy the champ to win
Why though? That logic is absurd and it not found in any other sport.

I think I gave Martinez the 9th, but even in those rounds I thought that Murray was controlling the ring, showing better defence, and landing better punches. Martinez hit gloves all night and little else.
Martinez won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 11th. So with the knockdown I had Murray by 3. It's a robbery to me because you can't really make a case for any other rounds for Martinez. Not to mention the extra knockdown Murray should have been given. I've pretty much had enough of this shit. It's a joke of a sport at times.

It's not? Never heard of home field advantage? And we know boxing is the worst offender

Yeah it's fucking ridiculous. No destryoying needed. Just win more rounds than your opponent. As Murray did. As far as I'm concerned when the first bell goes the title essentially becomes vacant.

That's like saying the visiting football team needs to win by more than a field goal or something like that. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Ok, if you saying it DOES happen, then I agree, if you are saying that it SHOULD happen, then that is what's absurd.
Re: HBO: Martinez vs Murray, Arreola vs Stiverne.... Saturday night fight thread
With all due respect folks, it was a close fight. I'm seeing that many people scored the 12th for Murray, and yet Murray admitted he got tagged (suggesting he was a little buzzed) in the 12th. I had it 114-113 for Martinez, and could certainly see the fight for Murray, but this wasn't a robbery by any stretch.

Stiverne looks like he just climbed out of bed

Lol never said it should, just that it does. Just like in football and basketball. Refs giving calls to teams or certain players. Like Jordan.

Thats pretty much the size of it for me. Murray won, but he didnt win. It looked pretty straight forward to seal the deal, impose himself and his size and strength over the last 6 minutes but he couldnt. Martinez deserves some credit for that.
I also agree that Martinez landed next to nothing all night. Once the straight shots to the body stopped he was flicking at gloves all night.

Getting tagged once in 3 minutes does not win the round for the other guy,
