I think the biggest hype of them all and this always happens is that when a decent white fighter gets in the ring with a decent black fighter, the white fans go crazy. I don't mean this in a racial tone but we all know what time it is.

While he did have to travel to the UK to fight.....he knew what he was signing up for when he put his name on the dotted line. One positive thing about this fight is that it did show that Americans will come to Britain to box when it is a huge fight, seconded by Johnson coming over this weekend. Who knows....Johnson's fans may have to use that as an excuse as well..... :p ;)

While he did have to travel to the UK to fight.....he knew what he was signing up for when he put his name on the dotted line. One positive thing about this fight is that it did show that Americans will come to Britain to box when it is a huge fight, seconded by Johnson coming over this weekend. no it showed lacy came to britain , the only other one who has any bollox was winky

and glen johnson has to travel in order to get the big money

For me it was becuase Lacy was expected to knock out Calzaghe and become the next best thing but Joe proved he was the best in such good fashion!

Your overhyping Joe now... He would have alot more trouble with guys like Winky, Taylor, Hopkins, maybe even Jones if he used more footwork like back in the day. Joe is a great fighter, but there are better athletes/boxers out there.

I actually think that if Roy managed to get back a even little bit more of the speed in his footwork that he would UD Joe.
