You can see where it helps.
So say you weigh 200 pounds (heavy yes) and 100 pounds of that is muscle (easily) then your burning 70 calories doing absolutely nothing. Thats without calculating the breathing and other normal bodily activites that add on a LOT more calories per hour.

You've brought up a debate that's out there - hormonal fat loss against calorific fat loss. Epoc has no direct association with human growth hormone production. But the exercises that would create epoc would create elevated hgh and testosterone levels. :)
