have wonderd sometimes how it affects young fighters making their name on sky sports - friday night don't see the undercard untill normally 11pm + ish not easy to get known by the casual fan on sky...Quote:

The reality is, either haye or maccarinelli are probably guna get sparked out. So if Warren has both of them under his wing, the winner can go on to bigger and better things while the loser can go on to fighting 8 rounders for a year. Either way warren has a superstar on his hands.
Now Haye isn't interested in that deal and suddenly Frank doesn't wanna know. Typical of warren.
Done the same with Hatton - Calzaghe and will do with Kahn.
Warren is brilliant at matchmaking. How else can Maccarinelli win a world title when the biggest name on his record is probably Mark Hobson????
CC! Very good points.Quote:

I think your forgetting how many people fell off (jumped would be more accurate) the Hatton bandwagon due to his snail like progress. If Frank is right and Ricky is on the slide that means that up to his prime Frank Warren delivered him ONE top class fight.Quote:

Lets look at the evidence .
Longelanana Mock or whatever his name is ,had him all over the place and he is a limited super middle . Haye scored a highly dubious stoppage against the late replecement.
Ismael Bin Laden the Belgian another Warrenesque import bought in for the sole Purpose of making Haye Look good , Haye then spins off sopme bullplop about throwing a limited number of punches per round, i'd love to be more specific but i had long since fallen in to the lad of nod.
Carl Thompson.
Fat Italian who was 74 years old ( fact ) ,again had him jigging round the ring before Haye again got a gift from the ref with another dubious stoppage victory . Not one of the commentry team pointed out the Haye hit his opponent when he was down , blatantly .
The simple shining truth is Haye has beeen well and truly exposed long long long before world class .

Yes but Frank had 38 fights to get it done, three fights after he leaves he has Castillo to deal with. I dont think for a minute Frank would have done any better than Maussa (good move at the time) Collazo and Urango. He possibly COULD have done better, he just would have moved heaven and earth not to.
Given the background interferance (no prizes for guessing who Im refering to) I think Rick and FA have done pretty well, three fights, three world titles (one of which at welter) and a mega fight with Castillo looming.
Also who is Joe Calzaghe fighting next?
I know the line being towed is that Manfredo is popular in the states and it will raise Joes profile. Hattons doing things differently, he actually fighting in the States and winning world titles.
Which is better?
I agree with you smash. I don't think Warren did much wrong with Hatton's career at all. He took him along nicely and gave him possibly the p4p no.1 in his own backyard when he was still quite young (26 I think).Quote:

You only need to look at Junior Witter's career (a guy of similar potential as Hatton) to see how things could have turned out. I doubt Frank would have thrown Ricky in with the champion in his division when he wasn't ready and on a few days notice, setting his career back 5 years.
If he had Ricky Hatton on his undercard he might ;DQuote:
