Re: if luis beats mosley will that make hattons victory over collazo twice as go
Depends. First of all, I don't think Hatton beat Collazo to begin with. Punchstats don't mean anything, in that bit you just posted it said that in the 12th round Collazo only outlanded Hatton in power punches 27-24.. Yet he absolutely owned him that round. He landed by far the cleaner more meaningful shots and hurt Hatton many times. Most of Hatton's punches were racked up in the clinch for f#cks sake. But IF Collazo is able to beat Mosley(he won't) it would have to do a little for Hatton, if not much.

Not true.
I still think hatton lost but thats not my point.
Thats like saying since Forest beat Mosley (2x), and Mosley beat DeLaHoya (2x), and DeLeHoya beat Mayorga, then Forest shoud be able to beat Mayorga, but no it didn't happen that way. Forrest lost 2x to MAyorga.
Styles make fights, and if Collazzo wins it means shite for Hatton!!!!!

It's not going to mean Hatton could beat Mosley thats for sure... But I think that the thread was meant to ask if it will relieve some of the criticism Hatton gets for that fight, or that it may dispell the idea he cant cut it at welterweight. Which is possible, but for people to really believe that afterwards Collazo will need to be very very impressive against Mosley and I don't see it. It's also not worded very well, as it asks will it make Hattons victory twice as good.. When even those who feel he won the fight wouldn't consider it a good showing.

Yea, and I think that's really possible if Luis won. What I dont think is really possible is that Collazo will. Even a great showing in defeat could do alot though. And not to say that it should neccesarily because styles make fights and all that, but alot of people would hold Collazo in a much higher regard thus Hatton's very competitive fight with him will look much better.
Re: if luis beats mosley will that make hattons victory over collazo twice as go
I dount the nay sayers will give him credit simply because they believe Collazo won whereas I think, thansk to the knockdown,Hatton won by 1 round. If Collazo beats Mosley,I'll certainly be giving Ricky more credit, would certainly put his win into perspective. IF mOSLEY BLOWS cOLLAZO OUT,WHAT THEN PEEPS?

He is awkward though, very awkward. Since he has stepped up he has taken fights on short notice and still done remarkably well. This time out he has had time to work on a relativley decent camp and he is fighting a 35 year old Mosley. This isnt the Mosley of yesteryear as he is trying to sell himself as...
Mosley may very well have the power to walk through Collazo, but he is going to have a tough time getting there and Collazo will steal rounds on the way...
If Collazo gets the result then the Hatton win is still the same for me. I thought Hatton edged it, but Collazo was coming on the stronger towards the end. Each fight should stand on its own IMO...
I think his stock does go up. Especially if Collazo is able to hurt Mosley. Should be interesting. It might convince Hatton to move back up to Welter.
Collazo will not hurt Mosley. Period. That is my own issue with this fight. In all other areas, I think Collazo is very competitive, especially down the stretch. Luis needs to keep that distance and land from those silly angles...
Is it being shown live where you are miles?
Ive just seen your post now, so sorry about taking a while to respond...no Im not able to see the fight live. Very annoying really!! I will start getting fights again in March when I will get all the Korean cable channels installed into my new apartment. As for now, no boxing, and not even any English TV!! :( :-\

You got me too P4P!! I got owned on this one! :coolclick: :-[ ;D
Re: if luis beats mosley will that make hattons victory over collazo twice as good ?
Maybe Mosley only beat Collazo because Hatton softened him up and beat all the skills out of him. :rotflmao:
Re: if luis beats mosley will that make hattons victory over collazo twice as good ?
Mosley easily dominated Collazo, winning nearly every round. What now Hatton fans? How does THAT make Hatton look?! ;D

Like he looked to me (a Brit by the way) before the Collazo fight, an ugly, brawling wrestler who has been WAY overratted.
Honestly I don't think his win over Tyszu meant a whole lot more than Danny Williams over Mike Tyson, Tyszu was in the downward spiral as evidenced by his subsequent retirement.

Well I give him more credit than Williams win over Tyson for his win over Tzyu thats for sure, but he hasn't done a hell of a lot since then. Despite HBO hoping Mosley would lose, he didn't, he dominated the fight and looked great. Doesn't it feel good to be right Bilbo?
