i agree to an extent.. in some cases sure people come out with shit excuses because their boy loss... but there are a lot of times when they are valid, a fighter is clearly shot, got robbed, had a load of shit going on before the fight... you can only really make your mind up after the fight and see what was what
Re: The no excuses after December poll
Excuses are part of one's life. We evade (and cope up) with psychological torture when we can find reasons to every failure we encounter. Some excuses though are so lame that you want to be really mad.
When a fighter is defeated or demolished, the most common excuse is "he is already past his prime", and "your boy won't be able to defeat my boy in his prime".

The worst excuse is..."I think I was drugged, I just wish I'd take the urine test." - Antonio Tarver, over a year after getting soundly beaten by supposedly 'past it' and 'punching above his weight' Bernard Hopkins.
Re: The no excuses after December poll
Both are great fighters who would have reached the top in any era.
Re: The no excuses after December poll
neither are. None of these guys are overrated. Why do you guys even post these topics?

Neither are overrated. Either I’m missing the point, or this is a really stupid thread :-\

Whereas Floyds fans would have you believe he walks on water,
if you ask "who has he faced?", you will hear names like Gatti, Castillo, Corrales and Judah, all were good at some point but not whaen Floyd fought them, they held no fear for him because there flaws were already laid bair before hand, now Hatton is the best fighter that Floyd has faced, not the most skilled but just the freshest strongest and most agressive, the most dangerous fight, Hatton may not be the dangerous 1 punch finisher Judah is (although he dispatched of Maussa quite impressively whereas Harris and Cotto couldnt) but he certainly doesnt shy from hard work like Zab
Corrales was undefeated and his fight with Mayweather was considered a pick em fight and Castillo had upset Stevie Johnston and was Lightweight champion of the world so i don't know what your on about.

So, who, if any of these fighters is overrated on these forums. I don't mean who is the most hyped, I mean who is given credit for being better than he really is. Try to be objective and think about the fights they have each had. I think neither, but I know alot believe Hatton is and a few Mayweather, so get voting.
You having a laugh? :-\
Good luck with that.
The biggest certainty about Floyd-Hatton is - it'll be 100% pure unadulterated carnage on here once the result is in.
Re: The no excuses after December poll
The reason I posted this is because I know what will happen after the fight. One of these guys will not get the props they deserve because everybody will claim that the loser was overrated anyhow.
By having a poll we can establish opinion before the fight so that when we have a result we also have a reflection of what people thought on the boards before their minds are changed by the fight itself.
