Default The no excuses after December poll

Just want to clear this up before the fight really so that there is no unnecessary slating of the fighters after a result is out. You all know what I mean, the typical "he was a poor champion anyhow" posts.

So, who, if any of these fighters is overrated on these forums. I don't mean who is the most hyped, I mean who is given credit for being better than he really is. Try to be objective and think about the fights they have each had. I think neither, but I know alot believe Hatton is and a few Mayweather, so get voting.

Well we all pretty much realise what Ricky can and cant do, he has beaten some very good fighters and in my opinion Tszyu is better than anyone Floyd has faced.

Whereas Floyds fans would have you believe he walks on water,
if you ask "who has he faced?", you will hear names like Gatti, Castillo, Corrales and Judah, all were good at some point but not whaen Floyd fought them, they held no fear for him because there flaws were already laid bair before hand, now Hatton is the best fighter that Floyd has faced, not the most skilled but just the freshest strongest and most agressive, the most dangerous fight, Hatton may not be the dangerous 1 punch finisher Judah is (although he dispatched of Maussa quite impressively whereas Harris and Cotto couldnt) but he certainly doesnt shy from hard work like Zab

overrated by whom exactly? the fans? the media? by them selves? the haters?

This question is way to open for anyone to truthly answer... the fact of the matter is whom ever wins this it will be a fantastic win for them... it will be a bigger win for hatton than mawayther for the obvious reason mayweather is top of the packing order right now... but even so this will be a great win for floyd when he whoops hatton and should get a massive amount of respect for his win come decemeber... sure the hatters will come out and say hatton was to small, floyd was this bla bla who cares?

Polls like this wont make it anything more than what we make of the result come the end of the fight... you would be better off makinh a thread a few days before fight night that will still be fresh in everyones minds after the fight asking their picks and why...

Even if hatton is overrated, it doesnt mean he isn't world class or a worthless win...

I think, for the most part, both are rated as they should be..... Which is presisley why popular opinion is that Maywether will beat him by UD.

Man I think its a bit unfair to say Castillo and Corrales weren't good when Floyd beat them, Corrales was 33-0
    when he fought Floyd.

I don't think either fighter is overrated both have beaten great fighters, no matter who loses, they
won't lose much respect in my book, should be a great fight I can't wait!!

The no excuses after November poll

main excuse after Kess beats Joe: Joe was washed up and past his prime.. or Joe broke his hand in the 2nd round.

so i hope kess knocks his azz out, and then Calzaghe beats someone real good afterwards so all of those theories can be shot down

A.) November is before December last time i checked.. and this is the no excuses after "December" poll.. November would be included in a normal 12 month calendar year.
B.) Plenty of people care due to plenty of other threads discussing Kessler vs Calzaghe
C.) No reason to start a new thread with all of the other threads already regarding Kess/JC fight

Neither are overrated...they are just at two different skill levels and points in thier career. It's so common for guys to have a ton of fans before a big fight and be called a bum after, i hope this isn't the case when it comes to hatton. We have tons of threads about how much of a threat hatton is to floyd, why he'll win etc etc....(the same type of stuff said about anyone who fights floyd) and after we'll have a ton with people all the sudden speaking up and saying they knew hatton didn't stand a chance and a ton of reasons why, or the all to famous floyd won BUT...crap that usually floats around after everyone he beats as well. I don't see hatton having a chance in hell of winning but i do see him a very good threat to the rest of the division....

There will be no excuses for these fighters whether they may be overrated or not. If one loses, it is because he fought a better opponent, not because he is overrated.

I must admit though that Mayweather is a little bit overrated.

Dang bro, do you really think that a simple poll here will really prevent all the excuses being drudged up again? Yes after every fight the fans will be out there defending their fighter for the most part, and if its really competitive, they'll be callign foul on the decision of the judges, and I don't think a poll will change any of that.

However, I think Mayweather and Hatton have both deserved the reputation that they have developed, and have worked hard to earn it, so despite what might often be discussed on a forum, where the discussion is intensified, I think that based on general perception neither fighter is overrated.

Anyone else get the feeling that Floyd is due another Hernandez, Corrales, Ndou or Gatti type of performance?
If so I hope it comes in December at the expense of Ricky..

I'm sick of these threads. Sometimes, excuses are valid. For example, Erik Morales had every right to say the judges screwed him when he was denied against Diaz 3 weeks ago. If people make excuses, judge whether or not they are valid at the time. You don't even know the outcome of the fight, so there may not be any excuses.
