Technically hatton is the best at 140 but n all honesty who has he fought since kostya to really prove that. Maussa,urango, and castillo.Right now i dont think hatton is the best. Ithink witter beats him and most likely stops him. All im saying is if floyd gets heat for not fighting the "best" welters then ricky should get it for not fighting the best juniorwelters. Realistically beside DLH who would be the most challenging opponent for hatton. Witter and PM. But i bet he would pick PM before witter.Why? cause he knows even though PM is a good boxer he is short in the power department. He knows he'll b able to rough him up like cotto did. If you believe that Ricky's bloating during fights will not shortly start affecting his conditioning then you're crazy. I'm not saying that he's gonna turn to shit overnight but overeating and overdrinking takes years of your athletic life. Ricky's getting to the age (30+) where he's not technically "young" anymore and his body will start punishing him more and more during training camps for his lifestyle. His determination during training camps coupled with his youth allows him to be in tip-top shape in spite of his lifestyle, but his body can't keep doing it over and over. That is fact. Ricky Hatton is not superhuman.

Look, for Hatton its all about the money. He isnt scared of witter in the slightest and he would beat him. I think he would stop him as well.

Torres has a belt and Witter needs this to appeal to Hatton. Torres has no scheleduled bouts and I feel these two should fight. It would give Witter a bit more of a name and two of the belts in the devision.
You speak like witter has done a great deal, but to be honest he hasnt. Urango is better than a shot Harris and morua. Castillo has a very big name in the states and a very good appeal instead of Witter. Its about money and legacy for Hatton, mark my words hes not scared of Witter. Castilo was involved in some very exciting match ups. Witters are all boring... SEE THE DIFFERENCE? Castillo did something in his career, at this momment Witter hasnt. Witter needs to get to America and fight a big name and get himself i name. Therefore has the better chance of Hatton.

i think its a shame that People like Cotto and Mayweather arnt at 140 now because it would be a massive advantage to Hatton. Its plain to see that Ricky cant handle 147 simple az. There just are not any really superstar names at 140 now for him to fight..

A better idea seing as hatton wants 5 more fights before he retires.would be for Hatton to fight the belt holders and unify the way it should be done..Rather than waiting because he lost to Mayweather wich all of a sudden makes him the biggest draw in boxing.

I'm sorry man but Hatton is ducking Witter, plain and simple. You can defend him by asking, "Why would he be afraid of Witter when he just took on the best at a higher weight class?", but think about this, losing to floyd doesn't take away from his luster back home whereas losing to Witter in his own weight class in his own country would make him the #2 140 fighter in his own country. And he knows there's a very realistic chance of him losing to Witter. I think for his sake, he should fight Paulie first for confidence sake, and if he wins fight Witter to give himself the best opportunity.

First of all, RESPECT to the UK! This year the UK fighters made alot of heads turn! Calzaghe looked unbeatable, Hatton showed heart, Witter looked hungry, Amir Khan looks like the future is all his, Clinton Woods stood tall and Enzo Maccarinelli was just a total BEAST! I became a Enzo Maccarinelli fan this year!
As for Witter vs Hatton! Everyone in the UK, just like us outside the UK knows that Hatton has been duckin Witter for quite some time now! The best UK boxers in the same weight class has made it a tradition to fight each other for country supremecy! Benn, Eubanks, Collins, and Watson all got it on! Lewis and Bruno danced, Danny Williams and Audrey Harrison did a sequel! So why Hatton doesn't wanna carry on tradition? Witter knocks out Hatton by the way! Maybe Hatton and his camp smell it also! Hatton's sucess as a brawler in the Boxing game ended with a hook to Castillo's body!
