Re: Cotto , in Searching of a New Course......
I'm not sure what to think...i become used to pretty much ignoring drastic reports that come out the week of a fight but who knows. But and undeafeated fighter on the brink of getting in the ring with boxings best fighter doesn't sounds like a guy who doesn't need to change anything. He got where he is one way, and right before a possilble fight with floyd there may be a change ??? I hope not, i'd give him even less of a chance.

Thats one side of the coin. On the other hand a change of trainers can be huge.
Look at Manny Pac
When a trainer leads his fighter to championship status winning in big matches what's the reason for change, Taylor had just beaten a P4P top three boxer in the world back to back which lead him to a championship, wins don't get any bigger than that why the need for change. Cotto has as well won big matches and is a champion, there is no need for change.
This is all just hype to bring discussion of the Cotto fight to the forefront. With his wide odds, most people are looking past the Cotto/Gomez fight (not me), so they release this type of jabber to get people's panties all in a ruffle.
Cotto Sr. already explained the whole thing. Cotto came to NY early; Evang had other plans, so he met them in Atlantic City mid week instead of NYC. That's all.
And we are playing into this stuff... look how long this thread is!!!

These rumors aren't new. In November 2006 at a days of fight between Cotto vs Quintana , transcended the same rumors , though after of admission of differentials criteria , Evangelista stayed as Cottos Manager and Trainer......
That once they resolved. But the problem is that they have a strong temperament and though Top Rank want a guy with more expertise , now Cottos father have a Trainer License , that will going be in his son Corner this Saturday in the fight for avoid that something happen in remembering the incident the happened with Cottos brother (Jose Miguel Cotto) last year in a card fight in P.R.......
Is a shame to see a family problems like that , we know that they have a strong temperament , but i think that Evangelista deserve to be part of the Team ............
What do you think about this guys?.........

Check the other threads there is a link to el nuevo dia that it was all rumor
I repeat it's jusst a rumor. In local news here on PR it was already put to rest.

Re: Cotto , in Searching of a New Course......
Not to worry guys. Here's a link where Cottos father says it's not true and how can that not be believed. The guy hasn't spoken a word in Cottos whole career so you know if he said something, it was because he had something important and TRUE to say.
