For the love of God Clubber, tell me you're not talking about the Bryan Adams song which was covered by an American Idol contestant.
Just kidding man, I'd never seriously deride someone about the music they liked. Unless it was a lot worse than that.
I think he is talking about Boys of Summer that Don Henley wrote, a fabulous song. Think the Foo Fighters redid it.
EDIT!! Sorry, wasn't paying attention to your highlighted part. Thought you were talking abut Boys of Summer......retard alert, retard alert.

Before that he talks about "Heaven", which was a Bryan Adams hit. Boys of Summer is a great song, I've never heard the Foo Fighters version, but this shitty pop-punk band called the Ataris had a hit covering it. I much preferred the original, but it was quite popular.

lol - I do like their take on it better. I'm not big on puppy dogs and butterflies and all things flowery fluffy.
That's funny because I find the John Lennon version to be one of the saddest, most heart-wrenching songs I have ever heard.
I find the APC version cheesy, over the top, and poorly done. Just to be clear
, I'm not trying to rip on you for liking it or anything, just giving my opinion.
lol
it's ok CFH, I get it.
Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
I know YOUNGBLOOD, I already edited my post. I realized I wasn't paying attention, as usual:rolleyes:

Sorry, I posted my reply before you got the edit up. I didn't see it. Don't feel too bad, I spelled "retarded" as retarted earlier in a rep message.
Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
Here's a few others:
Hurt - Johnny Cash (NIN)
Mr. Bojangles - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (Bob Dylan)
Foo Fighters - Baker Street (Gerry Raffarty)
Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
LMAO. I never pay attention to highlights as I'm too stupid to figure out how to highlight anything:D.............

Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
I'm a retard.
Now: I'm a retard.
Cool, now I know:rolleyes: How embarassing:eek:
Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
I don't actually know that many covers. So it is good to get a list to judge from. I mean, it was just like 2 years ago I was listening to stuff like Green Day thinking it was awesome, and now I hate them...so...
Would Mr. Breeze by Lynard Shynard be considered a cover, seeing as J.J. Cale wrote it, or? And how about SRV stuff? I mean, most of his songs someone else did first.
Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
I'M SO RETARDED THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WON'T LET ME IN:rolleyes:
Re: What cover songs were better than the original versions?
Some more:
Hallelujah - Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley, both better than the original IMO (Leonard Cohen)
Chris Cornell - Billie Jean (yes, Billie Jean. Originally by Michael Jackson)
Landslide - Smashing Pumpkins (Fleetwood Mac)
I Don't Wanna Grow Up - The Ramones (Tom Waits)
Helter Skelter - U2 (Beatles) - most will probably disagree, but I love U2's version.
Maggie's Farm - Rage Against the Machine (Dylan)
More to come...

I would say it's considered a cover if the artist was not the first to perform it . IE If J.J. Cale had played/published Mr. Breeze, then it's a cover.

Ahahahaha; I wish they would allow bobsledding in the "special" games. How fun would that be?? Great mental picture;D I know that is cruel. The guy who made the S.O. games was a twisted dude. I want to apply to be athletic director for the games; what a job.
I feel neg rep coming soon for this post:-\
