Im not sure Paulie has looked garbage in last couple of fights but yes Hatton may just crack the top 10 replacing Pavlik, because Pavlik is still a new comer to the championship level where as Hatton has had far more experience in championship fights. The question is though say if Hatton fights and beats Pacquiao where will he be rated then ?? thats an interesting one.

I agree, lets take Cristian Mijares for example. He got beat by 3 bums. Hatton only lost lost to P4P best while beating big name fighters in Tzsyu and Castillo. Like Mijares, Hatton has also unified. Is Mijares a two weight world champ ? No. Anyways I dont need to say no more though as I might get a few people moaning.

You don't hold fighters to losses that were early in there career when they were novices do you know how many great fighters have lost a few early in there career ?? Alexis Arguello, and hell didn't Dick Tiger lose his first 5 fights ?? but does anyone count those losses when rating him ?? or Arguello for that matter ?? no because thats not how it works Lee. The fact is Mijares has been very impressive since becoming champion. Where as Hatton has only looked good against Tszyu in 2005, and a washed up Castillo who looked like a shot fighter in the fight before the Hatton one. What has Hatton done since the Tszyu fight that should make him rated higher than Mijares ??

You could argue Castillo was shot. But many people felt he weren't, and he didn't look completely shot in the fight. As I say he has unified the belts, beaten a then current world champ in Urango and destroyed a big name in Castillo. He done it in a fashion that no one has ever done to him. Lazcano was also the 8th best jr welter when he fought Hatton. Not a bad opponent to face coming off a KO loss. Mijares aint fought bigger names than Hatton or scored bigger wins IMO. Anyways ICB I've had this Ricky this and that argument a hundred times with you, you know how I feel about the situation, it's pointless me baging on about it.

he has been beating top class opposition for 3-4 years now.
Castillo, urango, collazo = all still have impecable records barring their losses to hatton.
Maussa, phillips, olivera, lazcano = all world class competitors on their day
The tszyu fight gets talked about so much because at the time Kostya was the fighter in the world to beat and hatton didnt just beat him but stopped him with a superhuman performance.
But dont let the doubters fool you, hatton has been seeing off world championship opposition ever since and has only come a croper against the worlds best p4p fighter

My last LB 4 LB list I had Mijares at 9 but to be honest, I haven't really seen him fight all that much. I switched him with Vlad because I feel he should really be in a LB 4 LB list and after a post a little while ago, my opinion changed.

That's how I feel about Hatton's place as well. I didn't discredit him for losing to Floyd but I did drop him out of my list because I feel those other fighters are better than Ricky and his last fight wasn't exactly a comeback party.

I think there's a reason for the lower weight classes getting some mention. One they are the ones fighting each other with less BS than the higher weight divisions and they are obviously very skilled fighters. I think they are underappreciated.
Also, in almost everyone's lists, I see Calzaghe, Hopkins, Cotto, Pavlik in the top 5, all of whom are not in the lower weight classes.

No its because he hasnt looked good since beating Tszyu. He needed a completely static target in Urangotang to look half decent for a while.

I think he looked great taking out Castillo. Some say JLC was washed up but great fighters like JLC don't go down without a fight. Hatton applied the pressure and landed one of the best body shots I've ever seen.

I think on the Cintron win i had to include him, but I had to deabte where.
I would have loved to have put my man Ricky on the list, but in truth he hasn't done much lately.
Two fights a year is not fantastic going.
