Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
A bully? No! I know where your coming from but people have done it to him, like Hopkins. He was a full blown middle and Oscar was a Lightweight that at one point dropped to superfeather.
He will win this fight if it goes ahead and he'll have another very good name on his record but I think he deserves it I mean look at the fighters he has fought and lost to in their primes:
Mosley- twice robbed once
Trinidad- robbed
Hopkins- much bigger man
Mayweather- in his prime and p4p the best in the world. Oscar was a little old by this time.
They are all Legends in the game and barring the first Mosley fight I don't think that he was on an even playing field in any of them.

Oscar sought out Hopkins and choose to make a jump to the MW division.....DLH is the one seeking the Pacquiao bout.....Manny just willing to oblige if able because he has heart...
The Trinidad fight was a bad decision not a robbery....DLH should not have decided to go on his bike at the last part of the fight...
DLH would not beat Mosley if they fought a 1000 times
PBF allowed DLH to do as well as he did...Floyd fought off the ropes most of the night if he had fought otherwise the fight would not have been even remotly close

All I know is Cotto may have to change his name to "Trailer Park" after Margarito gets done with him....
We all know what a Tornado does to a trailer Park;D

you need to get your natural disasters straight Daxx. :D It will be bad whether it be tornado, hurricane, monsoon, mudslide (Ruiz in the prime), etc.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
First of all ODLH is not a bully it was PAC and Freddie Roach who wanted to fight the Golden Boy, he was taunted.
But I do agree PAC gets decapitated once Oscar lands a flush shot:eek:

Oh right so Hopkins didn't want the fight then? And Freddie Roach wasn't going on about what Pac will do to Oscar before Oscar mentioned the fight. And you think that the second Mosley fight was the right decision? watch it again ive just watched it twice today! I really like Mosley he's one of my all time favourite fighters but I think Oscar beat him 2nd time round.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
Oscar is a funny character these days.
He seems to have a maximum height requirement with the fighters he chooses.
Cotto was acceptable, Floyd was, Hatton was on his radar. Margarito was not even considered by him. Paul Williams? nah!hehe

I can say with a clean conscience that DLH is a damn bully if he fights Pac. Pac fans, this is not a knock on him and he is one of my fave fighters at the moment but the size and weight difference is not a fair one.
Nobody is twisting Pac's arm to fight ODLH. I can assure it will be biggest paycheck he will ever get so its all good. He knows what he's getting into. So don't just get upset with ODLH, get upset with Pac for taking the fight. He can simply say "No thanks" and walk away.

I have criticized DLH in the past because of the way he goes about choosing opponents and I heard a million stories in his defence.
You are not the only one. Around here, people praise Cotto and hate ODLH and Mayweather. That's just the way it is.

Daxx,
I think the decision to go on his bike WAS SMART. If he was clearly ahead on points and he decided to fight a la Mayweather, why not? It's like a basketball team who's far ahead on points and on the last few minutes decide to pass the ball around. Is it illegal? Not at all. Does it please the spectators? Not at all. But still, its their way to victory regardless of pleasing the fans. Oscar WON THAT FIGHT, too bad the judges reacted as spectators and not as judges.

Oscar De La Hoya fought nothing like Floyd Mayweather in those last few rounds with Felix Trinidad Oscar De La Hoya just run and wasn't punching when Floyd Mayweather is on the back foot he counters and atleast fights Oscar done nothing in those last few rounds except run and i had Felix Trinidad winning 3 rounds out of the first 9 rounds then he won the last 3 for certain making it 6-6 on my card one of the biggest myths in boxing is that Oscar De La Hoya vs Felix Trinidad was a robbery when it wasn't.
Re: Is it me or is Delahoya acting like a bully?
Most boxing experts and fans know that ODLH was robbed. He was clearly ahead on points. No wonder his corner advised him to just not risk those last 3 rounds. Look at his reaction after the fight, big surprise and not like other fights were he's all confident about the decision with arms raised and all. Like I said, spectators would hate to see a basketball team just pass the ball around making time because they are ahead of points but still, it’s a victory no matter what and a smart safe way to win.
Boxing fans hate ODLH and then have him do something that spectators don't like (run around), even worse. No way out.

When a fighter doesn't throw a single meaningful punch in an entire round, you can probably make a case for making it a 10-8 round. Fans go to see boxing, not track meets.

Not to sound disrespectful here but i couldn't careless what so called boxing experts think i like to go with my own opinion as i see it the fight could be no wider than 7-5 either way i think Felix Trinidad clearly won 3 rounds of the first 9 rounds and he clearly won the last 3 rounds Oscar De La Hoya was known for closing the show on close fights like he had done with John John Molina Pernell Whitaker and Ike Quartey just to name a few but he didn't here and he payed the price no way would i call it a robbery i wouldn't call a fight thats no wider than 2 points either way a robbery its Oscar De La Hoya's fault he over estimated his early lead and so did his corner.

I like the fact that you go with your own opinion and not what the so called experts say. I'm the same as you in that respect. Don't get me wrong I like to listen to what the likes of Colin Hart have to say but my opinion is what matters to me the most!
