I cant wait until I see the entire fight. The little I was able to watch, was Joe just owning Roy left and right. I was watching what I could on Justin TV and just as the fight began, the copyright troop was in full force shuting down all streams and there were like 30 streams and they were getting slammed down faster than Jones was getting slapped around ;D I am downloading the fight right now and I am going to watch it in about 5 minutes ;D I can't wait to see this as I was liking very much seeing Joe just stick his head right in front Jones as Joe had his hands down and was just throwing punches at will. I saw ownage but as I said, I was unable to watch this fight through and through because I was busy jumping around trying to find a working feed, I would find one and then seconds later it would get shut down. I ain't mad though, the man I wanted to win, did and he won in a very great fashion.

I don't mind Joe's taunting it got him hit a few times, i think if he didn't do it, it would have been even worse for Roy. However, Roy never taunted guys to the degree Joe was doing it. He didn't do it round after round, he would to from time to time. ALl that being said Roy wasn't getting off, Joe had every reason to do it. I wish he would have done it against Bernard though.

Fine Trainer...what did Calzaghe do to set up a fight with Roy 7 years ago? Calzaghe at that point was no different than Michalczewski or Ottke...he didn't have a lot on his record and he didn't want to fight away from England but he DID want to fight RJJ the #1 p4p fighter in the world...what do you expect Roy to say "Oh why of course Joe, I'll take a pay cut and travel to podunk Wales to fight you infront of a crowd of toothless soccer hooligans....like you even had to ask"
I love how the more famous and more successful American fighters are supposed to just jump at the opportunity to fight the best England has to offer and if they don't want to fight them IN ENGLAND then they "dodged them"

From my understanding Joe Calzaghe never would accept the normal 70/30 pay difference nor would he fly over to the States because he was afraid of flying. I think Bernard was bad as well in terms of negotiations with Roy. However you know more about it than I do. I definitely could see Roy taking the easier road, I think people criticize Floyd for doing it when the fights he took IMO were harder.

You know that yes? Joe has said previously he would fight Jones anywhere...in the US or whatever but Roy was never interested back then. Ok so Joe didn't have Bhop/kessler etc on his record then but bottom line is Roy wasn't interested. Don't bring location into it though as that is just rubbish.

Not really,just in how people treat you in the buisness,if your fighter is champ as well, you cant take 70/30. Its an unacceptable number. In Bernards case,Roy didnt even have a belt at the time, and Bernard had 3, and Roy told him he'd have to take 60/40

Sure , Roy did it as well, but two wrongs don't make a right. It diminishes his otherwise superb effort, He didn't need to do that and he didn't win over anyone by doing it. ATG's have more class than that, though I do rank him as an ATG now.

It seems to me that that kind of reckless hands down, sticking his chin out, taunting Jones was as much a way for him to keep his own mind keen and 100% in focus as it was taunting Jones.
We saw flashes of it in other fights as well, against Bika especially, and Bika was an awkward oppponent for Joe who cut him up a bit.
I reckon it's something he does instinctively when he gets hurt or rocked. That's when it truly becomes a fight and he goes into fight mode and his fighting heart is revealed.
Maybe a strange analagy but I can imagine if Calzaghe was a street racer like those guys in Fast and Furious, if he spun off the track and almost crashed, he'd get straight back onto the road, take off his helmet and undo his seatbelt and then drive at 100% maximum intensity for the rest of the race using the fact that one mistake would kill him as the motivation and adrenaline boosting measure that would keep his mind alert and allow him to have 100% total focus.
