Re: Mandatory, who's next for Mosley thread.....
He should fight Cotto, assuming that Cotto wins in February (hoping there are no surprises). The first fight was very competitive and this could be a good opportunity for unification match.
I am sure Margarito will be around looking for an opportunity to fight for the title again, but I guess the fight Cotto - Mosley should be the most attractive for this summer.
I think that if Floyd returns will be for fighting Pacman, if he beats Hatton.
Re: Mandatory, who's next for Mosley thread.....
From a neutrals point of view a rematch with Cotto wets the appetite, if Shane can fight at that pace and throw straighter shots than he did against Margarito he has more than a chance to even the score.

RETIRE ON TOP!!
Let's try to eliminate them one-by-one.
He's not going to retire. We all know that.
He's not fighting Santos, no money in that.
He's not fighting Pac, since Pacquiao is fighting Hatton in May and is therefore not available until late '09.
Paul Williams is fighting Winky in April at 160, so he's not available for a while either.
I think Berto's handlers will put him in against an easy opponent next after the tough fight with Collazo, so he's not an option.
He's not going to rematch Margarito, this fight was WAY too one-sided. If you're Margarito, you'd rather just rematch Cotto.
Clottey is a good fighter who brings no money or fans, so he's doubtful.
Forrest doesn't bring much money and we already know he's a terrible style matchup for Shane.
So really... there's 2 legit options. A rematch with Cotto (contingent on the Cotto-Margarito rematch not happening) or a fight with Floyd.
I think you are right about Floyd!

Winner Pacquiao/Hatton vs Winner Mosley/Mayweather
Re: Mandatory, who's next for Mosley thread.....
I'd have to say fighting Cotto would make the most sense. I don't think Margarito will be thrown in with Cotto after this loss. I'd imagine he needs some time off along with a tune up fight before getting into the mix again. Cotto vs Mosely would be a great fight, as was there first. Winner could fight Margarito down the line. This is really shapping up like a Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran. Too bad PBF wants no part of this
Re: Mandatory, who's next for Mosley thread.....
Clottey would be a great fight, Mosley said he only wants super-fights though so I doubt this will happen. Mosley-Mayweather or Mosley-Williams will be next imo.

I was thinking the same thing, 147 is an amazing division full of elite talent, even by historical standards.
Go down the ring rankings at 147 and see how much these guys have actually fought each other (ranks have not been updated yet to reflect last weekend)
1. Margarito fought #2 Cotto, #3 Mosley, #4 Clottey
2. Cotto fought #1 Margarito, #3 Mosley, #6 Quintana, #9 Judah
3. Mosley fought #1 Margarito, #2 Cotto, #8 Collazo
4. Clottey fought #1 Margarito, #9 Judah
5. PAC hasn't fought anyone ranked, but he's just passing through
6. Quintana fought #2 Cotto
7. Berto fought #8 Collazo
8. Collazo fought #3 Mosley, #7 Berto
9. Judah fought #2 Cotto, #4 Clottey
10. Hlatswayo waiting on a shot.
Re: Mandatory, who's next for Mosley thread.....
Mosley said he only wants mega fights from now on which to me says ONE fight a year (he only fought once last year), so the timing of Pac v Hatton or Cotto v Margo isn't an issue he won't care if his next fight is late 09 or early 2010.
My guess is Floyd will unretire for Mosley then the winner of Pac v Hatton. Shane will get beat by Floyd and then fight the winner of Cotto v Margo.
I hope...
actually i'd prefer Floyd got beat by one of the above, a close trilogy with Floyd would be nice.

I agree with this good post breakdown. PBF is written all over Shane's next fight. PBF always wanted to fight Shane when they were at 130 and 135 respectively but PBF wasn't the direction Shane wanted at the time. Now, that Shane is the man and of course PBF was the man this should be a given. Looking how Shane looked, this fight makes me salivate...even though PBF should win 8-4. But he may be forced to fight the fight similar to how Diego Corrales made him. Shane throws a lot into his punches and is very good in the clinches. Man, he looked so youthful again.
