Taylor boxed better than he has done in years.
It's a shame he was in there against someone as tough, determined and strong as Froch though.

Yeah I agree, both Kessler and Green are well capable of beating Froch.
I really rate Alan Green, I think he's going to be a world champ sometime soon.
The guy has tremendous knockout power and great skills. He often looks spectacular in stopping overmatched opponents.
He still hasn't had a defining win though and lost his first significant fight. However the weight drop and colon issues mean I overlook that. I think a 100 percent Alan Green smokes Edison Miranda, although to be honest I see everyone from Bute, Andrade, Taylor, Kessler, Ward, Dirrel, Froch, even Pascal stopping Miranda. He's simply too easy to hit and doesn't have a chin to withstand what's coming back. He also can't fight going backwards so is easy to figure out.
I expect Ward to beat him easily.
I rate Green too, I was disappointed with his performance vs Miranda but his health issues may have played a part. I always wanted to see a Green/ Mack fight when they were both at 168 & undefeated.
I also think Ward boxes cycles around Miranda!
But back to Froch, hes a solid guy in a solid division & will be tough for anyone around the weight!!!
Nobody has boxed cycles around Miranda yet. He has been overpowered, but yet to be outboxed. Ward doesnt have the power to do this and doesnt have the heart or chin to stay on his feet. Others may beat Miranda, but I dont think Ward has the ingredients to do it.

Having said that, I thought Froch did well. If I was Taylor I would have taken a knee at sometime in the last round and hoped to have biased judges. But I don't really think that would have mattered either.
Also, Lopez was huge against Jerry. Lopez looked like 15 pounds bigger.

Yeah it was a little off, interestingly though all of the press row at the fight, had it gone the distance would have had either Froch winning or at worst a draw.
It wasn't nearly as one sided as people are making out. It's easy to make a case for Froch winning rounds 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and of course 12. If he would have won round 3 instead of being knocked down the impression of him wouldn't have been nearly as negative as it has been, it really was just one terrible round, and a couple of great Taylor flurries, the end of the 7th and I believe the 11th being the most notable.

He's went from fighting people relativly unknown outside of the boxing circuits in his home town (let alone country) to fighting a big marquee name in America, a top (if past prime) world class fighter and former undisputed MW champ with two wins over B Hopkins.
After KOing Taylor I can't really see him having any sort of nerves with the other top SMW so we should judge him properly off his next bout.

Nerves shouldn't be a factor next time out and I just hope that whatever he says to the T.V. Cameras he looks very hard at the portions of the fight that he lost and learns from it.

Not many fighters win mega fights away from home, in fact Calzaghe and Haye are the only ones I can think of. Hatton lost when he faced Floyd, his other American opp hasn't been top tier and he's had many fights in the US now to aclimatise.
Tyszu lost in England, Mclellen lost in England, Cordoba lost in Ireland, Kessler lost in the UK.
Off the top of my head I can't think of any fighter who has gone overseas to fight a massive name opponent and won without at least getting floored in recent times?

Yeah good call on Abraham Lefty. I guess with having already fought him once and having seen Miranda dismantled by Pavlik he was more confident going in.
Froch had never been in with a top level opponent and until you have it must be in the back of your mind whether you are good enough.
In Abraham's mind I'm sure he was extremely confident as he won the last fight with a broken jaw in the 5th round. If Miranda couldn't stop him under those circumstances I presume he felt that he could never stop him.
I love Artur Abraham by the way, one of my favourite fighters, a warrior!
