Why did Hatton get a shot at Collazo ? Who complained about it ? What about Calzaghe v Hopkins who complained ? Juan Manuel Marquez v Floyd Mayweather, what has Marquez done above 140 pounds ?
First off, Welcome Back my good friend.
#1 Evander Holyfield was a GREAT cruiserweight but he had to fight 5 heavyweight fights vs very good opponents before he got a title shot
#2 Collazo was a TITLE holder, Wladimir is the holder of multiple titles and is considered THE man of the division. Collazo was also out of Hatton's division by 7 pounds.
#3 JMM is one of the best pound for pound fighters out there, is David Haye???
Wlad waited past February AND March and now he's supposed to wait until July?!?!?! Not that it's "unfair" it's just unreasonable...Wlad has better things to do than wait for David Haye to get fit.
What's pound for pound got to do with anything ? Just because JMM is P4P top 5 doesn't mean jack shit. JMM has never fought above 135 and now he's leaping to 143/144. Shouldn't Miguel Cotto who has proved countless times he is a force at the weight be more deserving and get a title shot ?
And Hatton never had one fight at welterweight before getting a title shot. Doesn't matter whether it was against "The man" or not he still got the chance to fight for an alphabet title in his very first fight.
This will be Haye's 3rd fight at HW and he already has 2 top ten rankings by the WBC and WBO so what's the problem ?
There are countless times a fighter has jumped up from one division to staright away fight for another. Nobody has said nothing about it yet all of a sudden when David Haye does it people say why is he getting a shot before others.
Haye has proved TWICE that he is a force in this division so I fail to see the problem. Even Wladimir admitted he would only fight Haye when he gets credibility in the divison. So Haye goes out and destroys Monte Barrett and gets the high ranking by the WBO thus gaining the credibility to fight the champion. End of.
Re: Haye camp wants postponement
Interesting thought, if this Fight goes tits up, it will be worrying where Haye goes next. With Setanta going bust and a lot of Bridges Burned.

First of all, I'm a David Haye fan, I train out of the same gym he did, & hope that Wlad only delays the fight a couple of weeks, as it will be more than worth it for the excitement, which I don't believe any other HW fight could match, and I think David could pull it off.
However, to even compare him to Juan Manuel Marquez is plain old ridiculous. Marquez is the kind of guy who has truly earned a shot at the best fights there are, by being an ATG & one of the best fighters in the sport today. David Haye just hasn't & isnt. Now, I have no problem with Haye leapfrogging the rest of the soulless HW division to get a shot, but that is only because of the paucity of the weight class. Also importantly, the PBF-JMM fight is not for any title, it's 2 guys who've transcended needing to fight for titles & are among the few who are now the image of the sport.
Also as impressive as Haye cleaning out the CW division was, it isn't comparable with JMM & Hatton simply because the quality of opposition was not on the same level. Now, like I said I still think it's fair enough because the HWs are dead right now, but Mormeck was no Tszyu or Casamayor & Enzo Maccarinelli was definitely not on the same level as Juan Diaz, and probably had no greater pedigree than Carlos Maussa.
I don't agree with Lyle that David doesn't deserve a shot at all, but to be honest that is more down to the state of the HW division, not down to how great Haye is, because had Hatton got an immediate shot at Floyd at 147, people would have thought it was ridiculous, because unlike a guy like Marquez he had not done enough before moving up to simply be fast-tracked to the best.

When did I compare Haye achievements to JMM's ? Haye's ranks no where near.
I was only stating the way JMM got a shot at Floyd Mayweather when he has never fought above 135 and nobody is complaining. So why are people complaining when Haye gets a shot at Wlad ?
In Lyle's view, Haye's achievements at cruiserweight dont mean shiit so then why do JMM's achievement at the lower weight classes mean shit ?
That's what I was saying.

You just can't be that big of an asshole and expect people to feel sorry for him
He's never ever going to fight any differently to the way he does now because he's terrified of being hit on his china chin. That's why he fights like he does and why nobody watches heavyweight title fights anymore.

He'll be struggling to get on the telly like Carl Froch. He'll have to go to America and fight who GBP/HBO tell him to to get a shot at Klitschko again.

Unfortunately Haye has missed his chance and with the mandatory defenses that Wlad must meet in the later part of the year: Povetkin and Dimetchenko the door is closed this year.
Haye should get back in the ring when fit and start knocking people out and go for the other titles.
Finally a reasonable Haye fan

Your posts are giving the impression that you can compare both fighters, whether you mean them to or not, and that is just not possible. People have no problem with JMM jumping the queue because he has fought and beaten the best there is to get there, whilst it is not as easy to say that about David. Now I have no problem with David doing it because he was the real CW champ, & the HW division is too decaying right now for him to have to fight up in the same way Holyfield did. However, the reason JMM's achievements mean more is because he's a 3 weight world champ who has come up through some tough divisions & is recognized as one of the best in the sport. Haye doesn't have that, hence why he doesn't get the same respect.
Re: Haye camp wants postponement
Maybe Wlad should do his own provoking....make his own T-shirts of fellow fighters......Ones with Haye standing there with a huge empty section in his chest region :dontknow:
Wlad should not wait on him.Hayes looking to have the opportunity to label ol' Wlad a ducker and play the puppeteer.Haye literally let his mouth write a check he wont be cashing in the biggest opportunity of his career.
