I'm not saying it's by default... JMM earned his status as Mexico's numero uno right now... He's a very good boxer... He's the #2 P4P boxer in the world... He has 2 close fights with the great Pacquiao, he KO'ed Casamayor and Juan Diaz, and beat Barrera... JMM is no doubt earned his number 1 ranking among Mexican boxers...
As for Angulo, he was considered by many Mexican boxing fans as the next big thing in Mexican boxing... until his last fight...
On the sidenote, Mexico's current numero uno was knocked down 4 times (or 5 times if you count additional 1 KD holding of the ropes) by the great Pacquiao...
.
on another sidenote, yet with all the knock downs, many still feel that JMM won both fights...
I have no problems with that, it's 2 close fights... Many feel PAC won both fights and also many feel JMM won both fights...
What's very clear is Mexico's current numero uno was knocked down 4 times by Pacquiao...;)

knockdowns don't mean shit if you don't win the fight lol Jameel McCline dropped Peter 3 times, and well we know how that played out

Scoring KDs doesn't guarantee a win but it's a big help... Remember 10-8, 10-7, 10-6 scores... Knockdowns were special boxing experience.... Imagine fans talking PAC knocked down JMM 3 times in round 1, PAC knocked down Hatton 2 times in round 1... Fans will always talk and cherish knockdowns because of the excitement it generates...;D

I think the KD's that keep a guy down are really the ones that keep fans talking. In the Hatton fight the 1st 2 were side notes to Pacs ability to land so easily/often......the last one will be on highlight reels for ages.Basically,If a guy is not hurt badly and the other fighter does not capitalize ....its really just a point.

Well said... KDs a special experience... It's a rare occurence... Scoring a KD is a feat by itself...

I am a pac-fan but i gotta say yes i think hes not invincible but the point in my mind is that JMM was the past hes constantly evolved and add the fact the pacquiao didnt have a decent right hook when he fought JMM. The same right hook that took down the fighter known as Ricky Fatton rofl. I admit i haven't seen a JMM fight lately but i think JMM hasnt improved by leaps and bounds lately since age comes into play. But look at it this way, JMM has been KO'd by manny 3 times when he was still an unrefined brawler (IMO) and what would you think will happen when the JMM whos improved slightly fights the Pacman whos improved like he was a pokemon evolved? I dont know but we have to really see that fight to really know what will happen but in a logical point of view that wouldnt be good for JMM.

he's didn't say that at all, he said a knockdown is just a point on the scorecards, unless it actually does something, like Pac's against Hatton, Mayweather's against Hatton, and like i re-watched again in Corrales/Freitas

umm they just fought last year, and Manny hasn't really improved or "evolved" much since then, he's as complete as he ever is gonna get, he already had the right hook and all that in the rematch, and JMM won even clearer than in the first fight, and your reference to Manny being a Pokeyourmom, is proof enough that it's just another non-knowledgable "fighter"fan coming onto the forum
Re: Isn't shane just money in the bank..
Dude stop being so arrogant and stuck up. Thats called lightening up the mood. EVER HEAR OF IT? Its cause if Fans of Boxer X and Boxer Y collided tensions run high. Your being a moronic bastard who has a stick up your god damn a** and to your retort on my post of pacquiao having a right hook on their match - Do you even watch Pac fights? Cause i definitely see alot of changes with him since JMM. In the JMM fights he usually gets too agitated and run in unprepared for JMM's counters. Now i see him as less aggressive and more careful and his right hook is fully utilized. In the JMM fight the more dominant fist was and always was the left cause obviously hes a lefty, a southpaw.
Re: Isn't shane just money in the bank..
Yeah REAL mature ETM. Minus my rep like i care. Its stuck up people like you that give this forum a distasteful name. Your as bad as manuel perez at boxingnews24.com

i watch ALL boxing fights, unlike you, who said that you haven't seen JMM's recent fights (Casamayor & Juan Diaz), when those are two of the biggest wins in his career, and both merit more praise that Pac's wins over Diaz and DLH, he already had the right hook since his rematches against Morales, way before the Marquez rematch, and JMM handled the right hooks just fine, obviously he's gonna look like a phenom when he beats a shitty fighter in David Diaz (who was never remotely close to being #1 at 135), a shot weight drained DLH, and then the win i do give him full credit for in Hatton, but Hatton is hardly a technical fighter now is he

Spi did gave high praise for PAC's final KD on Hatton... That KD is appropriately known as one-punch KO... One-punch KO is the ultimate boxing experience that kept boxing fans mesmerized for years... As what Spi said, that KD/KO will be in highlight reels for ages...

The last KD was impressive. But to speak as if KD's are a rarity in the sport is not accurate. It can be a culmination and lead to a KD that ends matters,Hatton.....or a point at which the fight begins to turn-ebb and flow and wakes a fighter up, JMM:cwm13:.And for shite sack,at least enter the last 4 letters:-X
Re: Isn't shane just money in the bank..
*Sigh* Im tired of arguing with someone who fails to listen. Im saying that I myself havent watched JMM's latest fights. and oh people always say crap about people who Pac faces. Like Diaz - he wasnt that good ODLH- he was weight drained Hatton- he was a bum and a no good boxer. Its always the case. And im telling yeah im a noob at this thing called boxing and im not trying to make myself knowledgeable. Im just sharing what i know and im not trying to be stuck up like you thinking your like a genius when it comes to boxing analysis.
