I think Calzaghe's ability to go back and forth front foot to backfoot was his greatest strength. I think using both is why he was able to gain the tactical advantage over Kessler who had a lot of success in the early rounds.

I think he was too fast for Lacy, but he was off balance with his footwork and I found it pretty sloppy in that fight, and Calzaghe brought the fight in terms of punches to Lacy, but physically Lacy was the one coming forward for most of it.Quote:

I havent seen the fight for a couple of years now but im pretty certain Calzaghe took the fight to him 95% of the fight.
He used his superior footwork to have Lacy come to him and then peppered him with combos then moved out.
I'm sure as the fight went on Calzaghe did start pressing forward.
