Who needs to throw too many when you land near enough every single one?

Solis was pretty damn accurate against Barrett, knocking him out 3 rounds earlier than Haye, IMO his shots looked a lot harder and a lot more accurate, only way i see Haye winning is if Solis takes him lightly and doesn't get in the proper shape, the way he's come into the ring as of late has been a joke, he makes Arreola look like if he was in as good shape as Holyfield
I wouldn't go that far.
In fact no your right Solis is way better than Haye and more powerful because he KO'd Barret quicker, then again look how much more powerful than Wlad he must be. It took him 2 more rounds than Haye
Re: Solis wants to knock David Haye out again
Yes he was able to land punches on TOMAZ BONIN....do you fail to recognize that other fighters in the heavyweight division have better defense than him? I mean Audley Harrison was also able to KO Bonin, so David Haye's performance....frankly not that impressive.

umm it''s sarcasm buddy, and didn't all the the Haye nuthuggers start raving about that "Haye is gonna destroy Wlad cause he blew Barrett faster than he did" when Haye was set up to face Wlad?!?

Audley Harrison's wasn't a 1 round demolition job either. I think it was the 8th or 9th. Haye has got better since this fight. He has won 4 world chamionships since.
Re: Solis wants to knock David Haye out again
Lyle, your logic isn't too hot.
Yes Solis took Barrett out quicker than Haye did. So Solis is more powerful?
Well, Solis couldn't stop Julius Long, something that Audley did in 2 rounds. So is Audley more powerful than Solis?
By your logic he is.

Yes Lyle, throughout his career Haye has consistently thrown 5-6 punches a round...

Seriously. Solis is menacing and it appears he packs a punch, but the guy is 6'1 1/2 and he weighed 271 pounds in his last fight. I'm surprised more people haven't commented on it considering the hate Arreola received and Arreola is 6'4 1/2 and weighed less than that.
Re: Solis wants to knock David Haye out again
Personally I thought the shot that Solis landed on Barret was more down to very good timing than out and out KO power, like for example the mayweather shot that sent Hatton head first into the corner. I think Floyd landed much harder shots but that one caught Hatton's momentum coming in and as a result hurt him.
Solis couldn't even KO Julius Long.
Re: Solis wants to knock David Haye out again
This fight is unlikely to happen for a long time; Haye must first fight jab and grab and then he wants Wlad or Vitali. Personally I would like to see another match of Solis at HW first but I really think he has the upper hand over Haye any day of the week.

A Solis who had had only 5 pro fights at the time. That was also the most mediocre performance of his entire career, and he at least won every round.
Solis is just more menacing than Haye. Forget about the rounds they ko'd Barrett in but just watch the two fights. Solis bullied Barret from the opening bell, he just kept coming forward and landed accurate punches, controlled aggression. If Barrett tried to clinch or work inside Solis just pushed him away, he's strong, composed and has a natural aggression.
Contrast that with Haye, who whilst he has punching power doesn't have the muscular physical strength of Solis. He doesn't bully and manhandle his opponents. He can look unbalanced at times, falling over a few times in the Barret fight, farcically at times. He also takes shots and is vulnerable, and his workrate isn't the best.
I'd favour Solis to dominate him much the same way as James Kirkland dominated Joel Julio, they are both big punchers, but Kirkland was just stronger and more physically imposing.
I think Haye lacks that and Solis would just bully him although it would be a great fight for the first few rounds.

You fail to recognise that Haye wont fight everyone the way he fought Valuev? Who are you to question anyones judgement?
Audley got a dodgy stoppage against Bonin in the 9th round I believe, Bonin was doing alright as well.
Re: Solis wants to knock David Haye out again
rjjtszyu fine, OH David Haye is just sooooo amazing the way he never stops talking shit and the way he can put away lackluster heavyweights oh please give me more of that ....Tomaz Bonin is not a world beater, he's nothing special so why is a "one round destruction" of him impressive??? Wladimir knocked Ray Austin the funk out with 1 hand, but the Haye fans seem to overlook that, all they say is "Wlad could end his fights sooner than he does"....and they say it, yet they aren't impressed by that, when was the last time David Haye broke a top heavyweight's will???
AdamGB, Haye is never going to be mistaken for a pressure fighter...and when he does press the action he hasn't learned (that we know of) how to pace himself, it might be something he shows improvement in with Ruiz.

#1 I said nothing of the sort
#2 ElTerribleMorales posted that because he was poking fun of the David Haye fanboys who thought "Haye beat Monte Barrett faster than Wladimir did so Haye must be better"....and I agree people did go overboard with that.

I rewatched both Haye vs Barret and Solis vs Barret today.
Haye and Monte basically fought as equals, taking it in turns to throw shots at each other and both took turns in pressing and then backing off, Haye won because he hits harder, and probably faster too.
Solis just took charge of the fight from the first bell. There was no exchanges or balance attack vs defence between two combatants. He just came out and bullied Barrett, marching into his face and smashing him around the ring. Barrett was never given a chance to get into that fight.
Solis is in the same mould as Kirkland and Angulo imo, just a big tank of a man who relentless comes forward and breaks fighters down.
Haye isn't that kind of guy at all. He's not strong on the inside, he doesn't have that ring generalship and aggression. He stands off and tries to box his opponent with punches, sometimes coming forward and throwing big shots, other times backing off and he gets hit.
I just can't see him making any impression on guys like Wlad, Vitali or Solis. I think they just bully him as much as outbox him.
Even guys like Povetkin and Chambers I find it hard to see how he wins. Povetkin works every minute of every round whereas Haye takes rounds off, he postures and stops throwing for long periods. He'd just be outworked.
A fight with Chambers would be interesting. I think boxing wise Chambers schools him, but Chambers himself can get a bit gunshy at times and his workrate can drop. He's not a hitter either. I think that fight could be a 50/50 matchup although obviously as a hater I'd side with Chambers.
Arreola vs Haye is a great matchup, not sure how that one goes.
Re: Solis wants to knock David Haye out again
David Haye is becoming the most targeted fighter in the heavyweights right now and for good reason. I think Solis is well rounded enough to put a whooping on the Hayemaker especially in the later rounds if it goes that far. But as I recall there was this other Cuban who bragged about beating Riddick Bowe in the amateurs but got destroyed when he fought him in the pros. It could be deja vu all over again.

It would happen again! Haye showed when he was much lighter he could seriously hurt Solis with one punch and I'd be very suprised if a fight between them got past 3 rounds. I think Solis will get beat before he moves onto one of the champs anyway. I'm not impressed at all. He is only so heavy because he is massively out of shape. To be anywhere near in shape he'd need to be 230lbs or less and i don't think he will ever get back down to that.
