Indeed. Fact is that Sheep's use of the word in the title was not used in a derogatory manner... As in looking to put anyone person or group down... It's people that look to call people out on things like this that keep flames burning. The words will always be there... How they are used and when or if they ever are is a different story. As I had said, this was not a racially driven thread but in turning it into it AirJordanIV has succeeded in just stirring the pot.

...and absolutly, the "N word" by far has the most negative conotation...(though there are a few in there that are also extremely negative)

I have never known Killersheep to be racist so he can use the word Flip on us.

It's a different story though with VD( who was temporarily banned before) for being a racist.

To make it safe though, I suggest that people should stop using the word Flip when referring to Filipinos because most filipinos feel that the word is demeaning. Just like the word "nigger" is derogatory for black people when said by a white man.:cool:

Well, I think we can then safely say that the word does not have any of the same racial connotations and history as the racial slurs it was compared to.

I guess some people just wanted to make something out of nothing. That or they really wanted to write the 'n' word on the main board :p

But I honestly thought that was your own word short for your own people.

The Blacks got that word landed onto them by theor oppressors before they took it on for themselves and cleverly changed it into a good thing.

I really thought you Flips were like us Aussies.
