Re: Barry Mcguigan thinks Valero should not fight agian..
I see Barrys point....Years ago when I first started here I wrote something on M esi when he was dealing w his issues and had just gotten licensed....Yes these are grown men who know the severity of what could happen but again they don't KNOW the severity of what could happen...If many fighters truly understood what could happen due to boxing we would have many many less fighters....
I remember how many guys would not go see the G-Man even those who were his good friends due to the fact they did not want the reminder that it could be them....
Guys need to make a living and as champions they are just starting to9 make the real money they have been aspiring for so they want to chance it...Some are in a Catch 22 situation..they will not be able to provide for their families well enough with a regular job so they keep at it hoping this is not the night things go wrong...Tough tough way to make a living

I admire the courage of the physician who cleared Valero to get a boxing license in Texas. He may be opening himself up for medical malpractice in case something terrible or tragic do happen.

She had epilepsy but passed the relevant tests, Valero has passed tests to fight but it might not be long before he has an injury.
If she was driving a Toyota she has an out and can blame it on the car:Sarcasm:
Re: Barry Mcguigan thinks Valero should not fight agian..
He shouldn't be fighting. The guy has had a serious accident and that has had an impact upon his life. He can pretend to be a boxer, whilst ignoring his own accident, but that would not be wise. Maybe we should leave him to his own devices, but is that fair if it goes wrong? I don't think so.

I believe Barry had the misfortune to have an opponent die before he was a champ. He has always been in favour of conservative stoppages.
He has experienced something that would see a lot of us think differently
