He did a pretty bad job IMO. In addition to getting DIrrell out of the corner, he screwed both fighters out of legitimate knockdowns, and acted inconsistent and unsure through out the fight. I remember one point Abraham complaining about a low-blow and Cole telling him to forget about it and keep fighting. Instead of fighting, Abraham keeps bitching and turning away from DIrrell and Cole calls time... He was very inconsistent IMO.

After all, these guys put their lives on the line every time the enter the ring.
AA should be sanctioned and made to reflect on such un-sportsmanship conduct.
Killer posted a link to a video of the end of the fight in the stickied thread. It won't be up for long, but I'd think you should be able to watch it right now.
Thanks for that, CFH. It's pretty clear-cut. WTF was AA thinking. That was completely uncalled for, and why was Cole almost 10 feet away?
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
Cole yelled stop, AA knows what stop means. Dirrells kd was borderline, his foot was entangled before the punch. Some refs might have called that one, as well as the ropes keepin Abraham up that one un-called knockdown. Both were pretty borderline trip/punches.
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
hell yea it was justified. I had no beef with AA when he hit him it happens sometimes when guys are desperate. but the way he acted afterwards, I lost all respect for him. Fuck him..

I'm a huge Abraham fan, or at least I was, but that was a chicken-shit move and he acted like a classless asshole afterwards.
Agreed.
It was a blatant foul.
And though at first it appeared Dirrell may be acting, it was clear later that he was not. He was crying and scared after awaking from being knocked out. And the Doctors were sincerely concerned over his health.
Abraham acted like a punk.
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
Many fighters have been hit whilst they were down and just got up and fought on. Direll saw an opportunity and it was a smart move but the way the fight was going , he was in trouble and I duno if he could have lasted. Guess we'll never know unless they meet again and it may happend cuz despite all this drama, Abs is still the tournament leader.
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
First of all I saw the fight and the DQ was spot on, Dirrell was clearly down and AA took a swipe.
My question is did Dirrell make the most of being hit? IMO he did, he'd been hit far harder and cleaner earlier on and barely flinched then this time he was rolling around with his eye's in his head (delayed reaction). Whatever my opinion AA should have had more respect after the fight, we can't tell if he was hurt as badly as he made out but either way AA should have kept his mouth shut and walked out of the ring with whatever dignity he had left.
Disappointing end to what was an entertaining fight, the last two rounds would have been very interesting if they had continued... :-\
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
I don't know. I mean he did hit him when he was down but imo Andre's play-acting got him the DQ. If he'd have reacted normally to it, Abraham would have probably lost a point or 2, which would have been irrelevant anyway seen as though he needed a KO.
The minute Abraham lands the shot, he takes the fight out of his own hands. He was never likely to get away with it in the US against a US fighter.

Absolutely puzzling from what I've read so far. Very curious to read to some unbiased opinions from members in the know.
Thanks in advance
The two best boxers of the tournament are Dirrell and Ward and both in my mind are undefeated, as Dirrell beat Froch in my opinion. Abraham is a just stand up, unathletic classic european fighter who was always gonna be exposed by more athletic fighter who with good combo's and speed two match. It's funny really Dirrell and Ward were considered thw two weakest fighters before the super 6 started but even at this early stage they are looking like the two best.

I dont think Dirrels looking like the best. He was owned by Carl Froch and he was knocked cold last night. As for Ward he headbutted his way to a win over Kessler and if he tarvelled he'd lose but he has home advantage in every fight so its being fixed for him to win it.

Anybody? I cant be the only one on this forum who takes issue with this statement because -it is absolutely misleading- Opinion is one thing but when you twist the facts in such a way, it is obviously no longer truth.
@Game: where are you from? You obviously have an illogical dislike of both American boxers in the tournament.
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
Very clear that Abraham tried to cheat his way to a win by intentionally cold cocking Dirrell and claiming it wasn't. That was a cheap shot that would make Mysterious Billy Smith proud of.

You said Direll beat Froch and Im pointing out the fact that Froch won and that Dirrel was knocked cold last night. Deal with it.

I did not say Dirrel beat Froch. You said Froch owned Dirrel which was totally false. That was a very close fight and there was no "ownage".
And secondly, you say Dirrel was acting -and- you say he was knocked cold, so maybe if you choose -1- of these, it would be a little more believable.
