Re: I don't see Floyd-Pac being competitive after that performance
We can't compare a 38 year old guy with a 15 month layoff who can't get past a jab (Forrest, Wright, Cotto) who almost lost to Mayorga. I'm not saying this stuff after the fight I was adamant about how one sided it would be beforehand. Against a guy who's just obliterated world class opponents.

pbf will hit pac all night long. but pac will hit back in return pac is not the type of guy who will back out when he gets hit.
pbf showed in the 2nd round that when he gets hit he covers up his face and is not on offensive mode.
pac will capitalize on that unlike shane who gassed out and wasnt able to finish.
now the slow mo guy said pbf punches where fast but in slow mo it wasnt really hitting the opponent. pac aint glassed chined

Don't know where all these people are coming out with "why you hating on Mayweather?" I don't know. Maybe because he's a punk-ass, scumbag without a shred of character of decency?
Great fighter? Yes. An all time Great? Yes. A decent, morally upright human?
Hell no.

The man is selling fights. People are trying to downplay his performance which was nothing short of amazing.
Hate his schtick, fine, but the man is brilliant in the ring.
Re: I don't see Floyd-Pac being competitive after that performance
It's impossible to tell what will happen until the two are in the ring together, that is what makes the fight so intriguing. Both have looked red hot lately, lets not take anything away from them. We can always slam their opponents in various ways, but the fact is they keep winning in dominating fashion, and that is all that can be asked of them.
In the case of Floyd's opponents, usually it goes like this -
De La Hoya stopped using his jab and was old, Ricky Hatton was never a welterweight and the referee screwed him, Marquez was blown up and useless and now Mosley was past it and gassed after the 2nd round effort.
In Manny's case, it goes like this -
De La Hoya was weight drained and old, Hatton had terrible preparation and wasn't himself, Cotto was not the same after Margarito and Clottey was too one dimensional to ever stand a chance.
Some might be true, some might not. Fact is, they are all world class regardless and some of the best on the planet at this time, so what is the deal?
Only way we can ever tell is when Floyd and Manny step into the ring together. What an event that would be...

It was like the guy had his hands tied I couldn't believe it.
yes that's right because Mayweather is gonna stand there and absorb punches all night right?
Just because Pacquiao throws 100 punches around against people who stand still doesn't mean it will happen with Mayweather.
Notice how low Margarito's workrate dropped when he fought someone that knew how to get out of the way consistantly ala Mosley? Same thing would happen to Pacquiao.

For the people clamoring for a Pac-Floyd fight, you're going to be disappointed just like tonight.
A 40 year-old 147 pounder, who gave up -- from what I'm reading on this forum -- by the mid-rounds.
Took Mayweather more than two rounds to KO Hatton. Didn't he have to go almost 9 or 10 rounds with Hatton? Pacquiao almost done it in one and
ended his career in the 2nd.
Now, Shane is 40; before the fight he was 38.

Damn, he really did get older overnight! ;)

Don't think it's a "schtick" at all. I think it's ingrained in his genetic make-up to be a scumbag. But I'm in full agreement: he's a complete wonder in the ring. Definitely an ATG.
Re: I don't see Floyd-Pac being competitive after that performance
I see it being competitive in the 1st 4 rounds and then Floyd takes over by adapting and cruising to a UD.
I don't see Floyd knocking out Pacquiao, as someone said he ain't glass jaw and I doubt Floyd hits harder than Cotto at 147.
Re: I don't see Floyd-Pac being competitive after that performance
so many opinions... so many biases...
surely there's one thing we can agree on.
since floyd only signs up for fights he knows he's going to win...
(just look to his record for proof.)
and...since floyd won't sign to fight pac...
we can safely assume that floyd knows something we don't:
that he would lose to him.
agreed?;D

Yes if Mosley is shot, it was Mayweather that pulled the trigger
Re: I don't see Floyd-Pac being competitive after that performance
I'm not so sure. If Manny fights Floyds fight like Mosley did today then he's in trouble. But I think Mosley did himself in with the 2nd round. He was fighting tense and gassed himself out. For large parts of the fight he wasn't doing anything. The jab was non-existant from the 2nd onwards. He looked like an old fighter.
Now Manny is not going to be fighting like that. He's quicker than Shane, will commit a lot more and will throw the punches in bunches, getting in and out with that great footwork. Floyd likes to be given time to breathe and pick his shots. I don't think Manny will allow him to do that.
I can see Manny outworking Floyd and maybe even stopping him, but if Manny gets too hesitant Floyd will be able to steal rounds with effective countering. Manny should just take the bloody test.

i have heard from numerous people that when meeting Floyd in the public he is nothing short of a gentleman. He takes time to sign autographs, take pictures, etc.

except Floyd signed to fight Pac, Manny wouldnt sign cause of the blood tests. Glad you notice bias in here as well
