Do you mean the first Germany goal? If so, that ball was travelling at 88 mph! So can understand the keeper not keeping it out!
Not the daisy cutter that Green couldn't get his body behind.
No, the Algeria/Slovenia game. It looked like the keeper was in slow motion or something. It didn't look like it should have gone in to me. Something slightly off about it.
you suggesting what i think your suggesting milo??
Nothing to do with the ball, Green just lost his ar$e, plain and simple. He was a centremetre away from having another howler that would've ended his career.
That said, I rate him as avery good keeper, just think only 9 starts aint enough experience for this level.
Don't think it will end his international career like it did to Scott Carson and Richard Wright
Only saving grace for green is that capellos hands are pretty much tied and he has to back his original choice now.
James obviously aint up to it and cant seem to get himself match fit, throwing in a rookie like joe hart would be a disaster waiting to happen
Team for algeria:
Green
Carragher, Terry, Dawson, A Cole
Gerrard, Carrick, Lampard, J Cole
Heskey, Rooney
Yeh, we deffo have to chnage the shape and Carrick is the only candidate for the holding roll until Barry is back.
Assuming everybody that is still therewas fit, this would be my team
----------------James-------------
----Johnson----Terry---King-----Cole
----------------Barry--------------
-------Gerard----Lampard-------J.Cole
---------------Heskey Rooney-------
In an ideal world i too would have james, king, barry and joe cole all in the 11
But lets face it we`ve taken a half fit squad and even at this early stage are feeling the affects of it

I tell you one thing. If we play Terry and Carrragher, we will get ruined against any top team. I am quicker than both of them and they were getting caught even by the U.S.A. Dawson is the only one with any pace and again he has no experience

Its the same problem if you play upson. Reason why losing ferdinand was such a blow is because we now dont really have a centre half who can carry the ball forward hence why johnson got the nod over carragher at right back saturday
Re: in defence of a fellow hammer
Shaun Wright Phillips shouldnt be allowed to buy an England shirt let alone wear one.
Re: in defence of a fellow hammer
We need Rooney to stay up front and lets have Crouch with him he always seems to score for England!
Re: in defence of a fellow hammer
I don't understand the reasoning for not playing Joe Hart. He was probably the best keeper in the league last season. He didn't make many mistakes, nor did he really make any at City the season before. I rate him just as highly as i rate Given, possibly more.
The talk of him being a disaster waiting to happen is a load of shite imo. It would stand true if the other 2 alternatives were supremely reliable, but imo they're more likely to cock up than Hart - As Green proved on Saturday and as james has proved on countless occasions.
Capello dropped a major bollock by not naming his first choice keeper before the warm-ups. That way he can settle himself alongside a consistent back 4. Swapping and changing the keepers and the defenders during the warm-up matches has done more harm than good.
I'm also seriously starting to have my doubts about Capello. Not taking Adam Johnson who is naturally left footed was a stupid thing to do. This became evident when he brought Shaun Wright-Phillips on to replace Milner on Saturday. A right-footed, predictable and low on confidence player, to play on the left side of the midfield. It still baffles me how he got the nod over Johnson. I watch City week in week out, and Johnson is by far the better player - which is why he keeps Wright-Phillips out of the team every week. Strange one by Capello - as is the goal-keeping situation.
Re: in defence of a fellow hammer
Emile Heskey is shite end of.
Re: in defence of a fellow hammer
Capello looked a bit panicky to me. Which was surprising.
I would think about Rooney up top with Gerrard right behind him but Capello seems pretty set on two strikers.

Superb in his own way, but was equally as exposed when he bottled his one on one, reminding us of his poor finishing skills.
It simply has to be Crouch, he can do everything Heskey can, plus he scores goals.

When he missed that clear one on one that 9/10 Premier League strikers would have scored ?
Fukk Heskey, play Crouch up front with Rooney. Or better still Gerrard behind Rooney up front on his own. Rooney said himself he prepares playing up top on his own.

Did you hear Kevin Keegan saying that Rooney didnt like playing up front on his own? I know they are on seperate channels but fuck me they must pay attention to the other sides?

No offence mate, but your signature is making you look like a fanny.

Glad you agree. I thought i might have been a bit harsh on him, but his unwillingness to discuss his reasoning for some of his "far right" views, coupled with the fact he keeps posting stupid signatures, is making him look stupid....which i'm sure he isn't. Certainly not HTH stupid anyway ;D
