It's gonna be a great night of boxing. Kessler/Stieglitz opening up for Bute/Johnson on Showtime.
THe only thing that makes me hesitant to agree with this is the Andrade fight. Johnson, even at 72 years old, is a much better fighter than Andrade. If he can handle Bute's power and a body-work, I could see him wearing Bute down and stopping him. However, Bute surely learned a ton from the first Andrade fight, so that's probably unlikely.
I hope Johnson finds something from within and beats Bute up. I can't stand Bute with his C level opposition and faux champion routine. And now fighting an old man who is losing more than he is winning? Go on Johnson stick it to all those Romanian mooseheads.
Beat this guy up, I don't like him at all.
Glen is the shit!!! such a great classy fighter. i hope he wins!
but father time has taken its toll a little bit i think.
the more i think about it, i think johnson was made for bute.
lets hope im wrong!!!!
then again, andrade almost ko'ed bute, so u never know!!!
if andrade can almost do it, johnson has a great chance too.
This is wrong and just a shallow comment. Ask yourself: who has Bute not fought that you thought he should have at 168?
Bute's resume is better than anyone not in the S6 and prior to the S6 it was as good as anyone. It was better than Ward's by a lot. Moreover, Bute's wins over Bika and Andrade are still better than anyone not named Ward, Kessler, or Froch. In fact the best wins of Kessler or Ward are of Kessler, Ward or Froch. Ward's best win is Kessler and Kessler's best win is Froch. Outside of those wins, Ward's best was Bika and Kessler's best win was Andrade. Froch has the best resume at SMW and if he hadn't lost to Kessler he would be a p4p fighter. I have no debate there.
Also, unlike Ward, when Bute wins, he wins big. His fights are always exciting and his uppercut arguably is the best in the business. In addition, he knocks people out consistently. He packs stadiums in Montreal. Once he gets a Ward/Froch/Kessler fight under his belt, he'll be exactly what is good for boxing: exciting, a KO artist, a classy guy outside the ring, and a huge attraction in his own country.
