Re: "Floyd is Boring" - Why do you think so?
I don't find Floyd boring but he has been in boring fights.
Two fights of his i found boring was Marquez and Baldomir. Now i see what you mean by his amazing display of offense and defense but his opponents were completely overmatched.
Marquez is a great fighter but not at welterweight and Baldomir was one of the worst champs the sport has seen imo.
I liked his fights against Mosley, De La Hoya and Hatton. The Ortiz fight looked like it was going to be very good until he sucker punched his way to a KO win. I know it was legal but a lame way to end a fight.

Joe Calzaghe who has little power is the personification of exciting. By marked contrast Floyd is coma inducing.
Why compare them though Miles? That is solely your opinion, it's like saying Mayweather is a complete bore in contrast to Gatti. Look what happned when they fought. Mayweather is clearly a better fighter than Calzaghe was who has taken far less punishment against better opposition. You can nitpick any single fight anyone has ever had, it's really boring.
Re: "Floyd is Boring" - Why do you think so?
Floyd was boring whilst at welterweight very early on and certainly avoiding dangerous fights but he is a class act now and offensive when he wants to be.
Re: "Floyd is Boring" - Why do you think so?
This is not math's it's boxing Floyd may be boring to some, it's all about what you like?as I said he is very good. What more can you say has he beat all his opponent's yes and a great WORLD CHAMPION.;D

Good point, the Marquez and Mosley fights come to mind, neither were worth watching.
And why were they not competitive? Because Marquez was WAY in over his head... he never belonged at that weight in the first place. Proof? He went scurrying back as soon as the massacre was over. Mosley wobbled Mayweather in the 2nd round with a good right hand, and then UNEXPLICABLY went into a defensive, sorry-ass shell. I've never seen Father Time arrive in the middle of a fight.
Was any of this Floyd's fault? Probably not. They put truckloads of money in front of him to massacre Marquez... and he took it. I probably would've done the same thing. Does it sort of anger fans who want to see Floyd take on the more dangerous fighters his own weight and size? You betcha. Against Mosley, give Floyd some credit for withstanding the right hand and making the necessary adjustments. But Mosley helped by crashing faster than the stock market in the Great Depression.
Credit to Floyd also for giving Ortiz a shot. Who was to know that the kid would have a mental breakdown and launch his head at Floyd's face, only to compound the error by going all "kissie-poo" on Floyd and getting KTFO'ed?
All you defensive Floyd fans: Not everyone that doesn't bow at Pretty Boy's altar is a hater. Some of us are just normal boxing fans who would like to see Floyd be involved in a good scrap, for crying out loud! Forget the posturing.... forget the calculated inactivity.... forget the precious "0".... forget who said what and who did what........ just get the f*ck out there and fight! Take on everyone on the horizon... and THEN retire.
Right, everyone who doesn't admit that Floyd is the most talented/gifted boxer to ever lace up a pair of gloves must therefore be a "hater".
I've just never been a fan of, or all that interested in Mayweather or his fights, and a big part of that is because of the way this clown acts. I guess must not be a "true" fan of the sweet science or i'd be a flomo.
P.S. Ortiz kissing and hugging Mayweather had to be one of the most sickening things i've ever witnessed in boxing.

I just can't undestand basing whether you will watch any athlete or not on their character outside of the sport, especially this one. It's boxing for christs sake, do you expect someone who beats people up for a living to be the type you'd absolutely love to have over for dinner? Having said this I do appreciate that Mayweather is an absolute mentalist of the highest order and completely insufferable, therefore I don't listen to his interviews or anything, its easy. I've enjoyed watching him and his cracked out family in some of the 24/7 episodes though, he has really carried that show and made it a good format for promoting fights.

I think we've had this convo before, I don't expect that you'll get it, but in order for me to be a "fan" of someone, I usually like something about them as a person. In Mayweather's case, I just can't find anything i've ever liked him, plus i've never really enjoyed any of his fights.
Re: "Floyd is Boring" - Why do you think so?
Dont get me wrong as a person Floyd come's across as a dickhead, but as a boxer a very good one too boot.as I myself can not stand B Hopp as a person or as a fighter i find him boring,as fan's we have like's and dislike's that's life?;D

Perhaps we have, lol don't remember. I just feel that since we are fans of boxing foremost, that a fighters ability in the ring should be the most pertanent aspect of their person. I'm not really a "fan" of any fighters, just really enjoy watching great defensive work. I would love to see Mayweather get his ass kicked for whatever that's worth, god knows he deserves it. I don't care to know much about any athlete outside of what they do in their sport, but I do understand taking a different stance on that and I certainly draw the line in some cases. I think Margarito should be in jail for instance, so would never pay to watch him fight even if I really wanted to. I also completely understand why some people don't enjoy watching Mayweather fight, but imo he is quite clearly the most talented fighter currently in the sport so to completely write him off just based on his being a jackass kind of puzzles me is all.
Re: "Floyd is Boring" - Why do you think so?
There is nothing boring about Floyd as long as you really understand what you are watching. Hit without getting hit is the name of the game and no one does it better than Floyd so how anyone could find him boring is beyond me... Anyone who's a purist and appreciates the sweet science loves watching floyd mayweather. It's amazing what he does in there plain and simple...
If you're a fan of mindless brawls, then floyd is not going to float your boat. Moving forward while blocking punches with its face, not having any creativity to their offense, showing no angles, skills or ring smarts.. If someone is into all that, then they be turned off by FLoyd, naturally.
To me, Floyd is more exciting than Pacman.. I'd rather watch someone best their opponent by outsmarting them and outboxing them, rather than beating them through natural talents/ability...
Re: "Floyd is Boring" - Why do you think so?
Agreed with the above. What kills me is people who seem to enjoy watching one sided fights without good defensive work being shown from either guy.

Yeah, but admit it, you have your favorites and usually root for one fighter or the other when they get in the ring.
I'm a fan of boxing, so it's not like I don't know the results of Mayweather's fights, even if it's just because i'm interested in the pug Mayweather is fighting. (like Mosley for example) For this reason, I find streams to watch, but refuse buy a PPV that Mayweather is part of. These days I get "DIRECTV" (satellite) here in the States, the HD is crystal clear, if Mayweather ever grows a pair and agrees to fight Pacquiao, I may have to break down and buy it. :-X
