Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
David Price and Nathan Cleverly get first dibs over Fury.
Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
I can't say I am terribly interested in this. Flintoff has been out of shape most of his life and now he wants to fight at 34? Maybe he can edge a couple, but his technique looks pretty poor. Fair play on wanting the challenge, but it is sad that it is getting so much attention. He doesn't deserve it.

Whether its Freddie,Ian Botham or Ricky Ponting, the sport is in the news. The fact it doesnt involve drugs or an assualt is a step in the right direction surely.
Good, accurate first post.
Welcome to the forum.

This. I still can't believe they gave him a licence. It would appear anyone can pick one up now. I hear the BBBofC have just agreed a deal with McDonalds to issue them out as the next Happy Meal toy.
Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
From what I have read McGuigan has said that Andrew has trained hard and that it will show boxing in a positive light, and that is good enough for me.
Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
He retired from cricket because he wasn't able to get fit enough to play it so how the fuck can he get fit enough for a professional fight?
Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
The unsung hero's, of boxing are the fighters on the under card, with out them there is no main event,
so when some washed up CRICKETER, gets the limelight how sad.
Remember you may not see them on the TV, or hear there names but they are the bread+ butter of
boxing, to Fucked to play cricket , lets see I want to be a PRO BOXER, what a crock of shit.:vd:

He is just having a go at a trade that he has always admired.
He hasn't asked for any 'hype' but why would he turn down a decent paycheck/tv coverage? He wouldn't. Nobody would. You can have a go at boxing if you want. Nobody is stopping you.
As for all the boxers that aren't on tv and names aren't known, well, winning sometimes would change that.
Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
There is always a certain amount of skepticism associated with anyone who was successful in one sport and then decides to switch to another. Freddie's cricketing days are over so why not have a crack at something else? He obviously can't combine the both, those days are over when you had professional footballers in England turning out for the county cricket club during the off season. So Freddie fancies himself in the ring, what's wrong with that? He will find out soon enough if he really likes it.

I may be losing it but, Cricket has nothing in common with boxing, if you get a injury in
cricket and can't play,! how the hell are you going to box FIT.
I may not have taken my stupid tablets, this morning but all I'm hearing is a load of bollocks, all hype
yes you can box, any one can have a go. All this is a talking point , not the second coming of Tyson is
it , I no what I think:LOS:

Sorry to inform you but without a main event there is no undercard!!!! Main event comes first!
I can see it now..... promoters putting months of hard work in getting an undercard of 4 round fighters together and then at the last moment scratch their head and think to themselves....."now who will we get as the main event".....its illogical!
Freddie is helping other fighters not only gain a payday but also some exposure on what will be a hyped event. Works for everyone from where I sit.

Dia you are wrong on this, it will be a good event and it will be good for boxing. :)
Re: Freddie Flintoff's November 30th Opponent Confirmed
When I go to watch a fight, I see ALL of them the under card the man event , my point is I'm not
star struck, Flintoff will make a bit of interest in the fight game, the novelty factor but not for me
to me it's more honest Brock getting into that ring. After all he is a winner plus I can't praise him
enough. ;D Brock put the check, in the post you no I'm very shallow.;D
