He is a monster at the box office, no matter what you think of him.
Well allow me to detail what I think of him. Oh no no, it's my pleasure.
I think so little of the motherfucker that I'd like to sit on a beanbag chair behind him, while he is bent over in the guillotine and take however many hours it'd take to slot each of those 85 million dollars individually up his ass!
Then...... Ssshhhhllliiiinggg, CHOP, bah bum.
That's just me however.

I read the entire post with Samuel L Jackson's voice in my head. I even edited "toad" into "mother fucker"

I've never been more proud of my A in English.
Also, I edited it to "motherfucker" for effect.

The initial PPV buys generated $94 million, plus repeats sent that over a hundred million in the US. The live gate was just over $12 million. Throw in overseas TV rights and the numbers are way North of what you're quoting.
How much of that huindred million gets back to the promotion is the crucial thing though. HBO produce the how and sell it to regional cable providers. The cable providers sell the show to customers. So you've got the cable providsers and HBO taking their cut off the top before the promotion sees a penny. There's a local tax in some states on PPV sales as well, right? So I'd be amazed if even half the gross number makes it back to the promotion, and by the time you pay the costs of the promotion, Floyd's opponent, undercard and so on that makes a dent. Then you've got the split between Golden Boy, who run the promotion, and Mayweather Promotions, which is basically Floyd employee Leonard Ellerbe and a fax machine.

How much do you think is the Net value before taxes?
Re: 85 million for two fights!?
Tyson made over a quarter million dollars per SECOND against Peter McNeeley of all people.
Now thats what you call a hustle ... and remember if we adjust for inflation that number increases.

Yes but that's because the fight lasted 1:31.
It's not like they would have continued to pay him $250,000 per second for the entire 10 rounds.
Your point is irrelevant.

What Floyd makes before taxes? No idea honestly. You've got to factor Al Haymon into it at that point. I can't see Haymon and Golden Boy working for chump change especially when they bailed Floyd out when he was being chased by the IRS.

There is no split with Golden Boy. It's Mayweather's show, but he sub-contracts to Golden Boy to organise and promote it for a flat fee, not a percentage. Floyd, as promoter, also takes the sponsorship cash and international distribution money. That is the Mayweather model that is so lauded by businessmen.

Tyson made more money in a number of two consecutive fights after his initial release from prison, if we adjust for inflation.
Tyson put together a string of $30M+ purses.
Floyd's star power and earning power doesn't compare to Tyson or even Oscar.

How do you know Floyd pays Golden Boy a flat fee? This is the people who bailed Floyd out of financial trouble when the IRS were after him and he was having his cars reposessed (just before the Marquez fight.) I've read from people like Thomas hauser that nobody knows the exact relationship between GB/Floyd/Haymon, how do you know this?

That article is based on a couple of quotes from Leonard Ellerbe blowing his own trumpet. No mention of Golden Boy, no mention of Al Haymon. It's bollocks.
