Haye is a businessman first. It sucks. As boxing fans we all hate that. But
it would make no sense as a businessman to go into a big money fight with an injury as a loss would pretty much end it for him.
Have some common sense.
Yeah!
You tell him!
Haye would never ever fight with an injury.....
;D
Losing to Wlad with an injury
was only embarrassing because of all the shit he talked beforehand... Losing to Fury is downright humiliating...
Yeah, nothing to do with dropping to all fours so many times the ref takes a point away and running away the entire fight. Nothing to do with that;)
Furys new team mate gave Wlad a hell of a better fight than that! Even threw the big gimp on the floor;D
Ross missing the point yet again, I never said he lost because of the toe... I said 'with' not 'due to'.
Haye was undersized and still went the distance, something nobody had done with Wlad for years.
Yes he bit of more than he could chew and had to use cheap tactics at times to survive. But it was only REALLY embarrassing because of the shit talking (fury take note).
He was willing to fight the division's elite with a minor injury because they are worth something... Fury isn't
Re: David Haye: I am with the board's consensus!
Even if Haye were to come back, who would negotiate with him knowing his record of pulling out of fights?

The key is to always have a Plan B if the fight doesn't go through....difficult for most fighters to do, but given Haye's history it is a must. Set a firm time limit and have a fallback plan, that's the only way to make it happen.

Impossible!
Most people buy tickets based on the certain fighters that are facing each other.
If Fury had managed to pull in Wilder as the replacement last year when Haye pulled out the first time. It would have been a good match against an unbeaten american but its the banter between the two fighters building up to the event that has sold the tickets. Most of the ticket buyers would have never heard of Wilder and would be pissed off and ask for their money back and how many would buy tickets if the small print said that they retain the right to change the opponent a week before the event?
Even Eubank v Benn. If either had pulled out a week before the rematch and they organised Nunn as the replacement, as good a fighter as Nunn was, people would still ne fucked off and want their cash back! It was being sold based on the clash of styles and personalities.

Which would support my theory that a lot of British boxing fans are idiots...but anyway you were saying that Fury vs Abell was a better match than Fury vs Wilder

Did I?
At least Abell has proved he can get in to the 5th round with a world class fighter;)

Yeah that's pretty much what you posted.
Wilder hasn't had an opponent last that long...maybe Tyson Fury is a bit scared of that

He might do if he tried fighting someone higher than Fury was fighting as a novice;)

....like Joey Abell?
Re: David Haye: I am with the board's consensus!
Fury doesn't want to fight Wilder because he wouldn't be able to just rely on being a lummox.
Like I said: he's yet to fight a live body that wasn't a cruiser or in possession of T-Rex arms...

I wouldnt put ross under the banner of most british boxing fans
in fact you and ross have a lot in common, if we could put a blanket over certain types of boxing fans you and ross would be snuggled up close
:)

Hes not just a lummox though is he? He doesnt hug, lean and hold and use his size as much as Wlad does. He actually beats people by throwing punches. Its shots to the jaw that stopped his last two opponents, not pushing them to the floor;)

this is absolutely true, you have never spoken a truer word
wlad is the extreme, the likes of that has never before and will never be seen in a boxing ring (unless someone finds some other multimillion pound cash cow who has to hold to win)
but fury does rely heavily on his size when comparing him to your normal situation :)
Re: David Haye: I am with the board's consensus!
Haye doesn't want to fight!!! End of story!
