They want entertainment: blood, guts, brain damage, but the actually sweet science - hit and not get hit - people don't give a fuck about, which is why ring geniuses like Rigo and Ward are being shunned by the networks.
Nobody is wishing for brain damage man, c'mon that's a stretch, and the blood and guts people have probably switched over to MMA by now. I think fight fans are some of most loyal fans in sports. The lengths that fans go to in order to watch fights are endless not to mention they cost money.
Most genuine boxing fans dont pay for fights, at least european fight fans. We all watch it on streams

Amen. The only big fight I ever came close to going to live was Tyson Fury - David Haye, and after losing £150 on travel and accomidation when it was cancelled. I've thought of going up to Manchester this summer to watch Fury - Chisora but with the cheapest seats £85 and located at the back of whats going to be an empty stadium I think I'll stay at home and watch it on the computer.
Re: Are fight fans the most mistreated in sports?
Boxing fans are battered housewives. Why else would they continue to watch after the Floyd-Manny AND Kovalev-Stevenson debacles?
Re: Are fight fans the most mistreated in sports?
boxing is the most corrupt main stream sport in the world
boxing fans are mis treated because of the lack of consitency and validity of lots of big fight results
they can pay a lot of money and invest a lot of time to watch fights that are almost as fixed as american wrestling
