Eh! Eh!
Re: Canelo/Pacquiao at 150?! Absurd
Pacquiao was 151 lbs on fight-night HBO's unofficial scale against Bradley last month.
Alvarez was 174 lbs on fight-night on Showtime's unofficial scale against Angulo 2 months ago.
Welter - Pacquiao
Light-Middle
Middle
Super-Middle
Light-Heavy - Canelo Alvarez
This $#!t's ridiculous, y'know, effin' day-before-weigh-in $#!t.
What a stupid idea that was when they did that in the mid-80s.

Wait... didn't Floyd just fight this guy at 152? what is the difference? and don't say 2 lbs 150 is a starting point.

He wasn't in his best form at 152. How can he be expected to be in his best form at 150?

Anyway, we're in an era where World Championships don't mean near as much as they used to. The fights that'll make the most money are what gets made.
The fans will put up with any hose-job and keep coming back.
Anyway, fighters ought to realize just winning ain't enough. This is supposed to be entertainment.
With the exception of Mayweather, if a fighter stinks out a joint with a boring win, the masses won't pay to watch him.
People expect too much of Pacquiao.
Dude could still easily make 140 lbs, he's only about 148 lbs on fight night in the ring.
And while he's still good, he ain't what he used to be. Pacquiao's phenomenal peak ended after the 2010 Margarito fight. It's been a slow, gradual deterioration with him though.
Other guys still have all their abilities in 1 fight, and show up with literally nothing the next fight out.
Canelo?
For $#!t's sake, people are expecting a 148 pounder to fight a Light-Heavy 174 pounder.
And that's the truth, Alvarez weighed 174 lbs on fight night agaisnt Angulo a couple of months ago.
26 pounds difference.
5 weight-classes apart!
But yet, No catch-weights, no catchweights !
I think some guys and the ones who can afford it train with consideration to coming in heavy nowadays. The fine, the weight is a manipulation and calculated. Broner v Escobedo was a hoodwink and a farce. One guy busts his ass to make weight, the little known guy clamoring for a upset...and the fat tart star knew all along he was blowing weight not once, but twice. Meanwhile Escobedo was needing to literally eat a full stuff crust pizza to pack on in the A.M. All catchweights do is blur and obscure any restriction or guidelines left in this circus. We complain about 8, 16 weight classes but now its more like 20 plus on any given rotation, often a mere lb being the point of contention as with Garcia and Matthysse. Loser keeps a trinket, loser keeps a ranking, its basically like trying to have it both ways. When I think catchweight I think the very best in one division facing another and a meet in the middle. But now its a large portion of ego stroking, network dealings to keep two "stars" happy-willing and tunnel vision strictly on name value but not a lot to best of the best. Alvarez has no business...well no ring business..being below 154. Manny is maxed at 144-147? and being stung early by wild man Bradley. Its a terd of a "match" if they propose to float it.
Re: Canelo/Pacquiao at 150?! Absurd
does anybody else think that el chocolatito should call out pac at a catchweight of 120 pounds? i think thats fair. if pac refuses then its an obvious duck.

What an idiot if you think 2 lbs is nothing then you do not know boxing. The second point is you asking the bigger fighter to come down even more. What the hell what are 4 lbs to add? Just have PAC woof a couple of doubles at Fatburger down. If you are the smaller guy and you wanna pick on the bigger guy man up! I am certain Canelo learned his lesson about catch weight and will not drop 2 more pounds. Factor in ODLH already made mistake and dropped insane pornographic weight to fight PAC.
Re: Canelo/Pacquiao at 150?! Absurd
I think it is a simple fight for Pac. Canelo showed his limitations against Floyd and Pac is faster, stronger, slick too. Just unload, walk, reset, ad infinitum. Canelo is much bigger, but he couldn't tough out Floyd. Manny is almost the same, both a different league to Canelo.

Yeah PAC now needs to offer catch weight to up and coming champions like they did to him
Re: Canelo/Pacquiao at 150?! Absurd
Just have Canelo cut off his limbs same idiotic thing
Re: Canelo/Pacquiao at 150?! Absurd
If canelo is dumb enough to sign the contract, then he deserves to get mashed. Cant come with excuses causes you decided to fight a catch weight fight...that is not mandatory.
