Anyway, we're in an era where World Championships don't mean near as much as they used to. The fights that'll make the most money are what gets made.
The fans will put up with any hose-job and keep coming back.
Anyway, fighters ought to realize just winning ain't enough. This is supposed to be entertainment.
With the exception of Mayweather, if a fighter stinks out a joint with a boring win, the masses won't pay to watch him.
People expect too much of Pacquiao.
Dude could still easily make 140 lbs, he's only about 148 lbs on fight night in the ring.
And while he's still good, he ain't what he used to be. Pacquiao's phenomenal peak ended after the 2010 Margarito fight. It's been a slow, gradual deterioration with him though.
Other guys still have all their abilities in 1 fight, and show up with literally nothing the next fight out.
Canelo?
For $#!t's sake, people are expecting a 148 pounder to fight a Light-Heavy 174 pounder.
And that's the truth, Alvarez weighed 174 lbs on fight night agaisnt Angulo a couple of months ago.
26 pounds difference.
5 weight-classes apart!
But yet, No catch-weights, no catchweights !
