No its not, head going forward stops direction of power, watch a top sprinter, when they reach for the line they lose drive, half the energy goes through the front foot
If you don't use horizontal placement then how would you transfer your weight through?without Horizontal placement you wouldn't be able to load up and you wouldn't have any extension and follow through.
Extension of what.
Full extension of the hips and shoulders, also if you don't use horizontal placement and do not pivot on the rear foot then the punch will go over your opponents head,if you push up on the back rear heal without horizontal placement then you'll be caught reaching in after you punch.
I honestly don't think you even bother reading what people are saying half the time, or you don't understand it at all. You're in your own world man.

No, I have literally no idea what you're talking about. Please enlighten me.
Horizontal placement is anchoring your weight on the front foot by stepping forward 2-6 inches then using rotation. The rear heel kicks out this allows the hips to transfer the weight through. This movement allows the RH to move back in a J position for loading. That's the beauty of the horizontal placement.

I know the move but Ive never heard it called horizontal placement.
For those wondering what is the J movement this when your arm/hand comes backwards naturally resting on the chin.
Re: Was Scrap right? AbouT the push off VS the twist to gEt the hips moving?

Answer must be the rear heel!?
Re: Was Scrap right? AbouT the push off VS the twist to gEt the hips moving?
BCBUD you are talking about punching in the sense of a push/falling to achieve weight transfer, pulling the punch to where it is going is how scrap is saying you should punch.
When you can pull a punch into its target using good biomechanics and sound bone allignment you have found a way to punch harder and with more control.
You dont have to take a step to transfer weight onto a leg just bend the knee that u want the weight to be on? Job done. Weight transfered, and your still of a sound gait to move in any direction if needs be.
You also dont want to do exagerated weight transfers while punching because you usually land with the weight on the heel which is bad for mobility aswell as killing some power in ur shots.

Which is why my trainer wants my weight on the front foot instead of the back:o it all makes sense. Thanx for sharing I couldn't figure out why he wanted my weight on the front foot.

Nothing he said implies that you should have the weight on the front foot.

No he didn't say to place your weight over the front foot. What he did say was to bend the knee for where you want the transfer to go. I wrote that is why my trainer wants my weight over the front leg because that is the direction that my trainer wants transfer to go.
