Re: what was Wladimir's best performance?
it has to be prior to sam peter 2 because from that fight forward his fights dont resemble boxing

BS!
Take out the Povetkin fight, which wasn't even mentioned mind you, and he hugs less than both Ali and Ruiz! Fact!
Samuel Peter was about the only other opponent he embraced at length, another shorter bull type fighter.
Re: what was Wladimir's best performance?
he has a best performance? sorry, but carrying bums the distance and not letting go of his right hand way too many times does not qualify. Maybe its when corrie sanders ko'ed wlad! lol.

That definitely isn't a fact
Re: what was Wladimir's best performance?
can you imagine what Cassius Clay would do with his slashing jab and bicycling about, then darting in with One-Two's to wlad's crystal chin? Then dancing outside, then around again. That's a 6 round fight with Wlad sucking wind and sliced up and quitting on his stool or the doctor says "Son, you'd have lost less blood if you went to fight against Putin."

I don't recall Ken Norton having a rough time with Ali and he was a bit chinny

bcuz norton was a boxer not a big puncher. Ali didnt have to bomb him. Look what ali did to Foreman. Smoked 'em with 1-2's all night, darted in ONE-TWO, nearly gave him whiplash with those 1-2's. Lokk how Muhammad against the big punchers like Lyle, he smoked 'em with one big right hand cuz he knew he HAD to. Look at the leather ali threw aganst Frazier in '71. Bombed him non stop for the first 7 rounds. You think Wlad has Frazier's chin? No damn way.
Re: what was Wladimir's best performance?
Wlad is a lot, and I mean A LOT faster than guys like Lyle and Foreman, plus his boxing IQ is very high.
Anyway, I mentioned Wlad's best performances in my previous post, and I don't think Jennings will test him too much. Wilder will try to, but that's quite the step up in competition for Deontay as well.

A more realistic situation is Clay bicycling around, slashing at WK with his one-two which has absolutely no effect at all on Wlad who has never felt a punch so weak before, being caught by Wladimir, as he did in practically every fight over and again by his own slower and les reachier opponents and feeling the force of shots like nothing he's ever experienced before, sending that head of his flying into the cheap seats.
Only through stinking the place out like he was in the Tour De France could Ali hope to be conscious for the 1st round bell.
Re: what was Wladimir's best performance?
Max stop talking so much exaggerated rubbish.
The fighters that beat Wlad would have lost to Ali.

If Ali stepped into the same ring as Brewster or Sanders he'd have been knocked out.
The only one he stood any chance of scoring a decision against at any point was Puritty.
And again, Ali never ONCE came close to fighting anybody like Puritty.
Nobody in their right mind would ever bet against Puritty in a fight with Ali. LOOK at him for Christ sake!
Re: what was Wladimir's best performance?
nobody beats ali in his prime but Frazier and Marciano. if joe did it then Rock would too.

LOL So Clay can beat all of Wladimir's massive or otherwise elite athletic modern opponents...
But we're willing to concede he loses to a handicap fat dwarf and a circus carnie..
You KNOW you don't buy into that Brock!
That crap is so far beyond reality you couldn't have a straight face writing that stuff.

thing is, the only thing we can only really judge wlads boxing on is his carear before peter 2
since peter 2 its not really been boxing
from that evidence id say wlad would be a contender in any era but never champ
